Good except a bit forced
The story is good, except there are a few instances that the authors stretched the bounds of belief to set up a situation. In one case Mack, the 18 year of daughter of the hero, is caused to be in a chase with three really big men. She has been portrayed in the book as a relatively fearless young woman, and in fact, came rushing to her fathers rescue when he was in danger. She grew up horses and was a very good horse woman. So this 110 pound girl is being chased by 240 pound men on horses. Unless her horse is a plug, there is no way that the men could run down this girls horse. The longer the race goes on the greater the advantage to the girls horse. In addition, the authors have the girl as terrified, in spite of the fact she has a rifle and is supposed to be good at using it. She absolutely froze in fear until the bad guys were almost on her, and then when she did fire, she was very inaccurate. Hit the bad guys leg while aiming for something. In another instance the sheriff, when coming to rescue a doctor and a hostage, trips a falls. He gets a concussion and dislocates his shoulder. How in the world does one get a concussion falling forward. You may get a bloody nose and skinned up hands as you instinctively move to break your fall. But, a concussion? That would require that the head hit something like a rock. Nothing like that was mentioned. And, a dislocated shoulder? How convenient.I guess one should suspend disbelief when reading any fictional novel and let the authors lead you where they want you to go, but sometimes they don't try hard enough to set up the situation they want.

Too much lovey dovey filler in the book.
Way too much fluff in this book. Need to stick to the real plot.

Absolutely enjoyable novel!
Ty Brannigan is a former lawman who is now a rancher with a lovely wife and children. Ty and his oldest daughter, MacKenna, are watching a wild herd of horses when they are suddenly shot at from an unknown assailant. They give chase and eventually catch up to the man. What Ty doesn’t know is why the man ambushed them nor is Ty aware that others are after him, and they don’t care if they bring harm to his family.Ty’s wife is named Beatriz, and she is of Mexican descent. She is fiercely devoted to her husband and kids. Beatriz, like other frontier women, works hard on the ranch. She isn’t too thrilled when one day her husband rides home with a former flame on his horse. What transpires between these two women in the coming days may just forge a strong and unexpected friendship.MacKenna fell in love with one of her father’s ranch hands, but when he errs in a relationship with another woman, Mack is left with a broken heart. There is more to her former boyfriend, Brandon Waycross, and as audiences progress through the story his past is revealed. There is lots of action in the newest series and a new cast to join Johnstone country. The Brannigans are a family that work hard together and are devoted to each other. I enjoyed the fiery and passionate love of Ty and his wife. I laughed as I read how a couple of their children exhibited their father’s prowess with firearms and horses, which brought both pride and caution to Ty. There are some unexpected twists in the plot, and I loved reading a story of a family facing the wild country together. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series released in the Fall of 2022.Read hard. Live free.

A brand new series, wow
Ty Brannigan in Wyoming is a great new character in the western genre. I really liked this ageing ex lawman and his family in Brannigan's Land by William W. Johnstone anf J.A. Johnstone. Who is trying to kill Brannigan and is the bronco buster guilty of murdering the neighbouring rancher? I really liked the dialogue between Ty and his wife and the fact that some of his children actually is growing up and are the reason why he is still alive. I am as said earlier a sucker for a good western and this is one of them. Generally you can count on the Johnstones but some of the books are not so great, I think it has something to do with the rate of production.
