"This Place Of Wonder". Truly a story of beauty and a must read !
It will touch every emotion within. Love, hate, disappointment. As well as any other you can imagine. I was completely absorbed by it, truly hated to end it.As I read each of MS O'Neal books I am amazed at the depth of her characters. She's become a favored author.

Pretty Good....
Four stars instead of 5 because there were a lot of people to keep track of. Also got a bit slow. However, a good story and the description of the setting made me want to pack my bags..

Great Read
Hands down one of the best books I’ve read in a while. It takes a lot to make me emotional over a book, but this one did jus that. I’m so glad I decided to read it, and will probably reread it in the near future.I think one of the best things about this book besides the storyline was how beautifully written it was. Usually I spot editing errors and get distracted by them, but I didn’t see a single editing error in this book.

Good book. Great summer read.
The book started out a bit slow for me. But it picked up in the end. I wonder if there is a sequel. I kind of wrapped up in the end, but I would like to know how things progress after that.

A great storyline.
The story is based on four women and the influence one man had on their lives. He has died, and they're all working through their grief. We'll written characters, with faults and strengths, all likable people. I am impressed the author addresses the truth of alcoholism. In so many stories, the main activity is drinking, like there's nothing else to do but that under the sun. Here is an honest look into that culture.

Great story of female resilience
I loved 'When we believed in mermaids' not least for the strong characters and this book delivered another set of brilliant resilient female characters. The relationships between them are in some parts wholly natural - mother and daughter, mother and stepdaughter - but in others very unusual, especially those between Augustus' daughter, stepdaughter and latest lover.I liked seeing the reactions to the same events from all four perspectives and learning why the four women saw things so differently. The back stories were nicely padded out through the book bringing all four women to life and I found myself caring how they came to be part of Augustus' life and things would turn out for each of them.Augustus the main male character, despite being already dead at the start of the book, weaves his way through the whole story, impacting on the four main women - plus others - and leaving a clear picture of him for the reader.I initially had doubts about the speed at which the love interest element evolved but quickly decided it added something extra to the description of the addictive personality of the woman involved.Another winner from Barbara O'Neal for me.
