Great Ribbon Cable To Build A NorCal Doublet Antenna
Although a longer length (150', 40M or even 50M) of this 4-Conductor Ribbon Cable would be more useful for this purpose, it worked extremely well to build an Amateur Radio homebrew NorCal Doublet Antenna. I modified the NorCal Doublet Antenna's originally designed 22' radiating wires by making each of mine 67.5' long so the antenna works 80M-10M. Look up "NorCal Doublet Antenna" on Google to find a link to the instructions that describe how to build this ridiculously easily constructed, lightweight portable HF Antenna. I had to be satisfied with a 152 degree Inverted V configuration in lieu of a true 180 degree flat Doublet configuration but the antenna still far exceeded my performance expectations and operated well with 100 Watts SSB.I also spliced an additional 30' of this 4-Conductor ribbon cable (from another 100' spool) to allow the feed line portion of my antenna to make it all the way down a 12M (39') SpiderBeam fiberglass mast and from the mast to the two coupled BalunDesigns low power baluns (a 4:1 Match and a 1:1 Choke). This antenna worked superbly well for 2022 Winter Field Day. The antenna enabled my Outdoor Station in a shed using my Kenwood TS-690SAT radio powered by an AOLithium 100aH LifePO4 battery to log a total of 406 SSB contacts on 5 Bands (80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 Meters).
