APTO Sebum Optimizer Day Lotion

The APTO Sebum Optimizer Day Lotion is a clinically proven antiseptic and contains antibacterial ingredients, like thyme, tea tree oil and cinnamon. It is specially designed to control oily skin and breakouts, therefore it is a light, non-greasy moisturizer, that keeps your skin feeling hydrated for several hours. As a person with combination skin, but mostly oily skin during pre-menses, I find that this moisturizer has helped keep my extra-greasy secretions at bay. It has helped decrease the amount of small breakouts. I do find, however, that in cold weather, that only applying this serum in the morning, I do have apply additional moisturizer to keep my skin from getting excessively dry. The package description claims that it protect the skin from dirt and make-up, which I found to be somewhat true as I applied the serum before putting on a water-based foundation, and still found that my skin got very dry in certain areas. Keeping in mind that this serum is mostly for oily skin and I am more of a combination skin-type, I do think that this is probably a good product, however I do think that in harsh climates, you will need a reinforcement; a heavier moisturizer to protect you from the elements.

It's always fun to try new skincare stuff - so first off - thank you APTO.Initial reactions, this serum is very runny and not like your typical moisturizer out of the bottle. It is green in color (from the tea tree oil??) and I didn't notice any strong odors (a plus for me). I have been using this for about a week and like the feel of it on bare skin (weekends, no makeup!), but underneath makeup for me and some very dry skin it doesn't pack enough moisture to keep the flakies away when I'm applying makeup. So, five stars for when I'm bare-skinned on the weekends and three for weekdays no working well under my makeup and rounded to four stars.

This lotion has a nice scent, it feels neat on my skin, and it’s absorbed fast. This is a good lotion to wear under the makeup during humid days, because it prevents my skin from showing excessive shine and it keeps my makeup fresh. All of this while it also moisturizes my skin.

Very liquidy green product that does seem to smooth skin and control oil. My skin feels much nicer after using this than before. Recommended.

Was a bit skeptical when I first tried this as it was watery, but after about 2 weeks of using it, I am impressed. I am over 50 with sun damaged skin, some flaky skin and a touch of rosacea. An overall lovely sight. I have tried the natural oils, argan, hemp, etc, and they never seemed to fix the flakiness in spots. I don't like to use a lot of bizarre chemicals or thick creams to clog pores, so was interested when this one product seemed so different. At the end of the day after using it, I did not notice dry skin around my nose and I really think my skin began to feel softer and smoother. I live in a cold climate and did not feel that I needed extra moisturizing when using this. It does not leave a sheen. I had a small cut on my skin and when applying this, it stung just a tiny bit on the open skin, but I felt that was good and was preventing any kind of irritation from developing there. It does have a nice price tag to it, but it really seems to last a long time. Very impressed overall.

Since turning 50, my face is finally feeling dry, after having oily skin most of my life... age ruins everything ;)Daily moisturizer helps, its very noticeable... the only downside for me is... the natural ones I like, leave a sheen on my face, as oil does....This lotion is almost like water like consistency, and it moisturizes with no oily sheen! And, it has a lot of anti bacterial ingredients which combat face break outs....This is a superb moisturizer for my needs.....As for size vs. cost... considering how little you need..... I am thinking this bottle will last me at least 2 months...will try to update this review....

Even though I'm older, I have a very oily t-zone. My cheeks are not as oily, but there are still a few spots that need a bit of moisturizer following application of my acne products. I have a hard time finding anything suitable, as even "non-comedogenic" products seem to clog my pores, and in general are too thick and greasy.This product is much nicer, though! It's very thin and watery, and gives just enough moisture to make my skin comfortable. I really like it !

At first I was turned off by how watery this was, I think because I wasn't used to ever using a lotion that was runny like this. After using it for a month, I enjoy the viscocity of it. I can do 1 pump and it's enough to cover my whole face, 2 and i can get my neck. My skin feels very moisturized and it absorbs into my skin well enough to let me put on my makeup shortly after applying. I was thought it might make my skin oily but it has not. My face remains clear, hydrated, and happy. This bottle will probably last me a very long time, I'm thinking at least 6 months.
