Good for the casual rider but not high grade
The brakes only work with 70mm or larger wheels. The build tolerances are not very good and the materials are generally low quality. The brake shoes are made from hard plastic so they score the wheels after hard braking. The brakes are fairly easy to install but the front holes don't align with the screw heads so it's difficult to tighten down the front bolts. If you have the proper size wheels and some mechanical skills for the install I think you will be fairly happy with this product. If durability and top performance are driving your buying decisions you may want to go with a more expensive product.

Does not stop longboard !
Does not stop longboard unless you're on flat ground moving less then 5 mph !I'm not happy I purchased this item, even less happy I purchased it from Black Diamond Sports. When I wanted to return it I had to proove I installed it correctly by sending photos, and defend myself for wanting to return this piece of junk. I've been skateboarding since the 1970's I think I can handle installing their little device. The metal is very lightweight and does not come with additional hardware to accommodate the fact that the baseplate is thick enough it will require new bolts. Poorly built and designed plus it does not work. I was hoping it was something my kid could use but I would never trust this device to stop if it really needed to. Avoid this and Black Diamond Sports to save you the hassle.

Works for scrubbing some speed off.
Installed on a Playshion 38” board. Was able to install in 10 minutes with bolts that were on current board. This brake set is a very well engineered and well built brake for a long board. This brake is perfect for scrubbing some speed off on a moderate hill for those of us who cant skid or slide our boards. If your looking for a quick stop you probably shouldn’t be long boarding in the first place. I like that is allows a very gradual braking rather than a sharp stop. Using more pressure on your heel while pushing off your front foot will increase braking if you want to a little more stopping power. I have been able to ride a lot more without having to worry about slowing down or tearing up my shoes or wheels.Because of the way it is made, you get more braking if you are not leaning for a turn. The pads come down on the wheels evenly, so if you do brake while turning it will make a little noise and wear your wheels down more. I use pretty soft wheels and I am not finding any signs of uneven wear on the wheels on the contact area.Compared to other braking options this one has the best pedal surface. It is easy to slide your heel over without looking down. Other options I have seen have a much smaller contact area that your foot would catch easily. If there are any areas of improvement it would be a stronger spring to prevent rattle over bumps in the road.

it's ok
Eats so much space especially if you are installing it on 38" longboard like I did. Somewhat does braking but still not super safe.

Its not worth buying for performance
This thing broke my first time using it it's got plastic wrapped around metal tubes as holding the pieces together. Horrible design for performance!!!!!

Not perfect but cool and worth trying
Like it, definitely helps stop the board, though the brake is not all that strong and requires you to rotate your heel around to step on it so trying to get on it in an emergency situation might be tricky (thankfully I have not had to try that yet). If you're just getting into skateboarding (or like me, haven't ridden one in a few decades and now need to do so again with your kids), I do recommend it as an alternative to the foot drag before you're ready for the slide stop. One reviewer commented that it didn't come with hardware, and that's true, so be warned - after I got the brake, I tried to mount it and couldn't using my existing 1.25" hardware and then had to go shopping around a bit for nuts and bolts since most people don't install their trucks with 1.5" and a lot of shops don't have a selection of good 1.5" hardware either. (I ended up buying bolts at Home Depot after unsuccessfully trying a few shops.)
