Product Description Fits all V6 and V8 General Motors (GM) active or dynamic fuel management vehicles, includes cars, trucks, and SUVs. How to Install KVAC AFM Disabler? STEP – 1: PLUG-IN Take out the AFM disabler out of the box and find the diagnostic port. Disconnect your battery. Plug the KVAC device in it. STEP – 2: CHECk the blue light After plugging the device in, the blue light turned on. It's the indication of the device being connected. If you do not see the light at all, then check if the OBD-II fuse is okay or not. STEP – 3: start the engine When the vehicle started, the instrument panel will show V8. Enjoy the running and unplug the device if you will not drive the vehicle for a few days. Cost efficient way to disable AFM (2010 Camaro SS)
As I write this, I've had the AFM disabler for slightly over a week in my 2010 Camaro SS with L99 engine. I've used it on a few occasions, one of which involved over 600 km (or about 400 miles) of driving (lots of highway cruising). It succesfully disables AFM to activate, keeping the engine in V8 mode all the time. And what a treat it is to drive like that! On the mentioned long drive, I noticed no significant difference in fuel consumption whatsoever.I've found only 2 downsides so far. The first is that you need to unplug the device when not driving the car for more than a day to prevent your battery draining and then remember to plug it back in before your next drive. The second is that on my 2010 Camaro the OBD plug is situated in a way that this device hangs quite close to my left foot. While get in- and out of the car there is a real risk of accidentally kicking it. So you have to be very careful doing that. Of course, that's more a problem specific to the OBD connector and not to this product.

What a difference
Have to disconnect the battery to install. Otherwise plugged right in, and automatically uploads itself on every start. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! had my 2007 silverado LTZ 5.3. Had the transmission grenade itself 1 year after I bought it. Ever since they did the R&R the transmission felt like trash...slipping, clunking on downshift, no throttle response. I actually have a V8 truck again....if I wanted a 4cyl I'd buy a honda ffs

It actually works
Does exactly what it says it's going to do. I did/do see reviews regarding mileage. My mileage sucked as I have a 2013 5.3L with some work done to it. I drive 14 miles to work 14 miles home. I can't get above 40/45 in traffic. A.F.M/D.O.D was always engaging. Once I installed this I have no more "ECO" mode to worry about. With that being said my truck was always in eco mode as I can't break certain speeds so it was always engaging and disengaging. With this it no longer engages and allows me to cruise speeds without effort. My gas mileage has improved as I'm not in and out of eco mode. Some situations may be different when it comes to mileage but it worked out for me and I can't be happier with this product. Not sure why more people don't use them 🤔. Great buy for the money. Easy fix for catastrophic damage that could happen with A.F.M always engaging

Plug and play easy peasy
Works just like it claims. The directions say to disconnect your battery but that isn’t required. Just plug it in wait a few seconds for the lights to settle down and start your truck. That’s it then enjoy all of your cylinders.

Does what it's told. Truck responded good
It does what it's told keeps the truck in V8 mode gets rid of that DoD AFM crap. Mileage stays around 15 to 20. I drive highway anyways. Good little gadget that does what it's told

GMC 4.3 2014
It really Helps my overall performance. Sence it was new my truck RPM has always hunted in 6th gear 1200 to 1500 RPMs. Now runs 1250 at 55MPH. Transmission temperature is down about 160 from 195 after a 15mile drive. Shift is smother. Less banging in the gears. Dash and head light appear to be Brighter??? Maintains 500rpm at idle and almost silent. MPG appears to be slightly better. But need more time to be sure. Better than M 5 shifter selector AFM Lock out.

Performed as described.
It performed as described but I didn't see a significant increase in gas mileage. It did eliminate the shifting from 8 to 4 cylinders which was my goal to accomplish.

2015 Chevy Silverado 5.3L
I was skeptical of buying this module because of the relative low price. However, it seems to be doing what it is intended to do and that is disabling the Automatic Fuel Management system on GM LS engines. I plugged in and have used it for over a week now. I haven't seen my truck activate the AFM since. Short of a full AFM delete this disabler is my answer for now. Long term? Who knows. Is it prudent? Good question. Will long term inactivation of the AFM gum up the 4 cylinders and lifters that are activated by the AFM? I'm hoping not.
