A Stylish Old School Slip Joint
I like the size, look, fit, and finish of this stylish Grand Way brand folding pocket knife. It's an old school slip joint (no spring assist) that's well made with good snap and no blade wobble. The handle scales are acrylic and look like horn. The blade is 440 stainless steel that's sharp and locks in the open position. Unlocking is easy but requires two hands. The bolsters are stainless steel with nicely done scrollwork. There is a lanyard hole but I kinda wish it had a clip for pocket carry. I also wish it didn't have those little notches (gimping?) cut in spine if the blade. In summary, I recommend this knife.

Great knife, good quality, and a great price!
Perfect size for your pocket. The quality is really good, especially at this price! The blade itself is very sharp, opens really easily, lock securely and very easy to unlock too! Really really nice looking and it’s even got a whole at one end to put it on a keychain! I highly recommend it!

Depends on what you want it for...not for me.
First, I'll admit that this is a handsome-looking knife. More like a prop from West Side Story than a pocket tool, it looks attractive and feels sturdy. The plastic handle doesn't look cheap (it's not solid black but has some slight swirls of color baked in). The blade opens easily (it does not lock in the closed position). As a weapon, it looks fearsome: It's long and slender and the extremely sharp tip looks and feels like it could penetrate steel. As an everyday carry (EDC) tool, however, it leaves much to be desired. It's a little too long (for my taste) to carry in one's pocket. Closing the knife, while not especially difficult, is somewhat awkward...not a task that can be done with one hand. In response to those reviewers who couldn't close the knife, you should note that the blade locks in the open position and you have to press a release on the back of the handle to close the knife. You have to press fairly hard on the release until you hear/feel a slight click. My biggest problem with this knife is the blade itself. While the tip is needle-sharp, the blade cuts about as well as the deck of an aircraft carrier. I have a never-been-sharpened, well-used, 65-year-old Boy Scout knife that cuts better than this one. If you just want to open letters or cut the tape on packages, this will suffice but, as a working tool, it's close to useless. To the touch, it feels like it should be sharp...but it's not. It will probably cut an apple or your finger if you try really hard (I didn't). I did try trimming a twig (less than 1/8 of an inch) off a tree. After 5 minutes of sawing, it finally came off...but it seems more likely it broke off from the pressure rather than being cut clean. Similarly, I tried to cut through a 1/2 manila rope with no success. If I were tied up in a burning building and this were the only way to free myself, I'd be toast...literally.If you're looking for a formidable weapon to intimidate rival gang members, this knife might be for you; if you're looking for a useful everyday tool to carry around, look elsewhere. Mine's going back.

Excellent Quality, Fit, & Function!
I was surprised by the excellent quality, fit, and finish of the lockback folding knife. It really looks good and feels good in your hand. The lock open feels tight which is nice. Release of the lockback is fairly easy but not sloppy. 440C stainless which is good! I'm going to enjoy this as an everyday carry. The knife feels to have good balance too. It's not too heavy or too light. The price is very affordable. Good job!
