This was the best order of this candy. It was super fresh.I plan on getting more very soon.

The first thing I noticed was the large box these came in was very dark cardboard which was like that because it was soaked with sesame oil, not wet but the oil had spread throughout the whole box and it smelled like sesame oil (I bet that box would burn for Awhile!😳). The individual packages are not all sealed on both ends. I noticed this on the individual bars I bought at the store were often open partially on one end. The bars that leaked oil are still good but sometimes a little drier. I checked through the top half of the box and found almost 1/3 were not fully sealed and always on the end opposite the Joyva logo likely because the logo end of wrapper is sealed Before the oily bars are inserted making a good seal. When they put the bars in likely some oil gets inside the end of the plastic wrap preventing proper heat fusion. I am quite sure the manufacturer is WELL AWARE of this but since sales are good why bother?!A thin square teflon or stainless Reciever tube that extends into the awaiting wrapper that also holds it open would keep the oil OFF OF THE SEALING PORTION OF THE WRAPPER!😉Oh yeah….The flavor and texture are pretty good though I prefer a less sweet and oily bar.

I was raised on Halvars growing up in a Jewish home -- When I was in Israel I are them for breakfast - lunch & dinner. It has a great taste -- I highly recommend them. Keep them in the fridge so they don't melt.

Delicious but the packing is terrible !!

We used to get these as treats back when I was a kid back east, ...back when they were crescent moon shaped... and bigger!! I would find a batch locally every once in a while, and be in a "nostalgic flashback heaven" of my childhood days with these treats! Somehow, the product has changed over the years, but this batch was very dissapointing....The chocolate coating did not survive the cross country trip from Florida to California in the middle of summer. (I should have thought about that before ordering!) Not only was it melted and coated the inside of the wrapper, the chocolate lost it's temper and never became solid again- even with refrigeration! It was like it was coated wth chocolate fudge syrup- gooey, sticky and smeared everywhere.The halva itself was either pretty old-or also reacted to the heat during transportation. The consitancy was like a more solid, sweet lumpy oatmel and it crumbled easily and didnt cut smoothly with a sharp knife. The corners and ends were hard/chewy and sticky (kinda like a "bad" malted milk ball that gets soft and chewey rather than staying airy and crispy) and it was not the usual halva inside- which is normally a smooth yet granular, crinkly consistancy. This stuff wasnt.There was no expiration date on the packages, so couldnt tell if it was fresh or expired merchandise.Would I buy it again? yes-probably would try buying it again- in the cooler weather- or buy more locally (cant seem to run into it locally, but I havent really tried too hard!) Will contact seller to discuss disappointing condition and revisit this review later...************ FOLLOW UP *************Was contacted by the seller and was given a 100% refund and an apology. It was very much appreciated. Even tho this purchase was a 1-star bust and a major disappointment, I would give the seller a 5-star rating for customer service and great business ethics.Thank you... Arrived save and sound, packed perfectly by Amazon, it might looks nuts to purchase such a large box with 36 bars but I will just freeze the majority of the bars . Once I want to have some more I will just move them from the freezer to the refrigerator.As these are made from sesame seeds you can’t avoid the sesame seed oil which it part of the taste. The only issue I had with the two bars I just ate was the lack of chocolate in the chocolate marble.Also I wil note that the bars are 1/4 smaller that the bars I would purchase at my local deli.
