Bumper Guard (HitchHammer 11.5" Wide)

This a wanderfull new product, highly reccomend, its on my short bed p-up & this item can be seen EZ in my rear view camera & is a excelent guide to help in backing up, if u did back into s-thin, this new item would flex & absorb the impact 1st, same thinf if another car or a person walked into it, just a excelent item, highly reccomend again ! it looks great & it can be used as a half step if needed if your foot is close to the factory mount, the hard rubber will never rust & last forever, it fits sung & tight with supplied curt pin, no rattles,,i think this will make anyone a very nice addition to there resse hith rear end, its very practical with the felling that you can back up with out fear & see the rubber hitch as u back into a toght spot ! . Its worth the money spent.

This bumper guard is the perfect protector for the rear end of your car. I live in a busy city with two universities. It’s not just kids who are on their phones and not paying attention; adults on their phones don’t pay attention, either. They get too wrapped up in their conversations and pay little mind to….ooops! And they rear end you. This bumper guard has saved my car. I highly recommend it. It fits great and looks good.

I haven't been rear ended in over 30 years. I bought a new $65,000 Wrangler 4xe and immediately put this in the hitch just in case. I wish it could be both a step and protection but it's not a step. During rush hour in the first week of ownership of my new Jeep a school bus rear ended a Ford Escort that a 16 year old girl was driving. She didn't hit her breaks so she hit the rear of my Jeep. I barely felt a thing. Her radiator was on the pavement, front grill pushed in. A mess. My Jeep however, didn't have a single scratch. Even the Hitchhammer was in perfect condition. I put on an extension hitch piece of "7 just to make sure nothing could come close to hitting the rear tire. That would have damaged the rear door significantly. The Hitchhammer is amazing and worth 10x its cost. I love it.

My biggest concern is a low speed hit at red lights and stop signs. The idiot that loves to run up to you bumper and then slow down just before they come to a stop has always been a problem for me. Just drive around and look at the bumper of other drivers. I have always used flush mounted patriotic hitch covers which I prefer but when I purchased an expensive 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4X4 with a V8 engine I wanted that extra protection at red lights and stop signs. It is a nice looking vehicle but having a standard trailer hitch sticking out took away from the appearance. I figured if hit at high speed it will not matter what you have for protection. This Hitch adds a little more class to the look of your vehicle. The reason I chose to give a 4 star rating is only because I wish it were all black without the yellow. Other reviews have mentioned the same concern. Overall I would recommend this item for purchase. Just switched today to a 5 star 2/2/19. Realized the yellow does stand out and people notice it while getting close to you. I have had comments on the hitch and apologize for the original rating of 4.

I bought this for my brand new 2024 Ford Ranger truck. Wanted to protect the rear end for any possible bumps or damage and costly repairs. Haven’t really had a bump against anything yet, but it gives me ease of mind.

I was very skeptical of this item because of the lack of reviews. though i base all my purchases off customer reviews, I never feel the need in leaving reviews of my own....but in this instance I can attest to the hitch hammer being an amazing product that saved me from damage while I was rear-ended on the highway yesterday. I was parked at a dead-stop and the car behind me didn't notice, and hit me at a solid 12-15mph. Below are pictures of the damage. As you can see the Valance (bumper cover accessory) was the only thing that was damaged on my end. The hitch hammer managed to crack through their bumper and pierce their radiator before they were able to come to a complete stop. The hitch hammer itself is a durable solid rubber feeling device that lends itself to absorbing impacts rather than transferring them, like more solid metal hitches would.

This thing rocks. Solid, like military grade, looks cool, will no doubt save you thousands in bumper repair, especially on expensive vehicles-piece of mind. Slid perfectly into the hitch of my new VW Atlas. I used the Connor towing locking hitch pin, which I HIGHLY ADVISE. Will keep this from being stolen, as the pin that comes with does not lock. I also bought the Camco 20153 Garden hose washers, to fill in the space, which worked like it was made for the pin-fits like glove, used 8 out of 10 washers, and lock just clicked-perfect fit!
