Perfect fit for my space and the design makes squats ...
Perfect fit for my space and the design makes squats a breeze. It was easy to assemble and it's even easier to use. I love that I can hit my pecs hard from several angles and though I rarely do leg extensions my hamstrings love lying leg curls. If you want heavy duty, for a decent price and don't have a lot of space for a full size squat rack this bench set is perfect, strong, and stable.

A "Marcy" bench/rack from Impex, some good, some bad
I ordered this because I wanted/needed a separate bench and rack. I'm happy with that aspect, the bench and rack are well made and were very easy to assemble with clear instructions. A previous reviewer mentioned the incline 'hooks' under the back felt loose, but I don't find that on mine. Once assembled and tightened it was solid and comfortable with no wiggle at all and felt quite secure. Whether it will loosen over time only time will tell. Overall I found the whole setup to be reasonably well made and I'm almost completely happy with it.PRO'S: The long bench fits me well at 6'+, also the rack is tall enough when extended to permit me an almost level take off for squats, easy on, easy off. The leg raise/curl unit works well. I haven't tried the preacher curl as yet, But then I'm not likely to as the leg machine is in the way (see 'cons').CONS: 1st: ( Listen up Impex!! ) This is not advertised as an "olympic" bench, but does come with a plastic sleeve and 2 inch clamp on the leg machine accommodate olympic plates. What it does NOT come with is a one inch spring clamp to hold standard weight plates on the steel shaft of the leg machine. I had to buy a pair separately, which is a waste considering only one will ever be used. C'mon Impex, you saved saved yourself a few cents by not including a single one inchclamp in an otherwise decent package!2nd: The leg machine is okay, but it's a PITA having it hanging there (in the way) when you want to use the preacher pad or if you want to use the incline bench just as a bench! It wouldn't have taken a lot of effort or planning to set this up so that the end of the bench could be bare, and then either the leg machine OR the preacher pad being made to drop into the pipe as the preacher pad does now. That would have been a great accommodation, and worth another $20-$40 bucks easily! I would have paid that!3rd: The separate rack is great, adjustable up and down and very stable. BUT, but those knurled knobs that hold the vertical adjustment are a MAJOR pain in the A$$!! I put this together this morning for my first workout on this nice new setup and very quickly found that having to completely remove these knobs just to change the height of the bar throughout my routine is really irritating and time consuming. I can tell you right now I'll be taking the uprights apart and taking them out to my drill press so I can change the height with a simple half inch slip pin rather than fiddling around with that setup you have on there now! You saved pennies by not including a one inch spring clip and wasted a whole lot more on this 'screw in the knob, screw out the knob' setup!

Damaged Product! Marcy logo cut in half??? WTF Impress!
Well, I am not happy. I haven't put the bench together yet but it seems real solid. All the parts seem to be there as well. The only problem is it's terrible cosmetically. I might as bought a bench of cragislist of something! When you buy a new product you expect it to be in brand new condition but this bench is all busted up! They need to add some foam or something to protect the various pieces from getting banged up during shipping. I'm really not sure if it was shipping or poor quality control. But again not happy at all. I decided to buy this new because I wanted a nice bench in my home gym! Thanks Marcy, Impress or whatever the company is called!

low quality but get the job done for me.
the paint scratches off if you look at it, mine was all scratched up out of the box and the piece of metal where the leg developer bolts on was bent and the paint on that part was all cracked up. you need to make sure this is on a level floor or it wobbles around and could tip over on you if your not careful, get it on a level floor and its pretty sturdy over all, i probably would not put more than 200-250 lbs on this thing just to be safe, i usually workout with 120-180 lbs. the preacher attachment wobbles all over because its not a good tight fit. once your weight of your arms are on it its pretty steady and does not wobble when i use it. one of the post where the bar sets is not straight up and down on mine, its at a slight angle, must have been the way it was welded, this does not seem like a major issue but it bothers me, its not off by much but just enough that i can notice it when looking at it. when adjusting the height of the bar you need to take the bar off and make sure you have the fasteners tightened down right, if not the post that hold the weight will wobble around, i have to hold them in the correct position well i tighten the tab down or they will wobble around and that could be a bad thing.it was very easy to build. i have had it for a short period of time and its been working great. its not the most comfy bench but its not uncomfortable either. it probably took 1 hour or less to build and it took my time while building it.bottom line this is a cheaply made bench but it works. if your planning on lifting heavy you probably want to get a nicer bench.the good about this, since the bench pulls out i can do squats easily and i can do pull ups on this too. the leg developer is nice to have and it gets the job done, for your average joe this bench will probably be ok, for those hard core guys that lift loads of weight this is not the bench for you.. the reason i chose this, it was not that expensive and the bench pulls out for squats, i had a nother marcy bench that i sold when i moved a few years back. it was much nicer than this as far as build quality goes and it did not cost that much more, i would have got that again but the bench did not pull out, this is nice if you want to save space when not in use since the bench pulls out, that is part of the reason i chose this,

Good bench
This is a great mid-size bench. I love how the rack and bench are two separate items. Allows a wider range of workouts than a all-in-one bench. Sturdy construction, just don't overload the rack. I wouldn't go over 300lbs, 275 to be safe. The decline feature declines a little too far for me, but that can be fixed by a simple weld.Overall, great bench for the price. Love being able to do squats and flys and have the 3 position levels (Incline, Flat, Decline)
