Great Product
This is the third one I have bought. The first one I installed in my sons bedroom and we have been very pleased with its performance. It is difficult to find a combination switch that does both fan speed and the light locally. Throw in all of our switches are light almond and it makes it impossible to find in our area. The instructions are very clear and it was easy to install. When we built the house we had three wire conductor and a ground ran to each fan so it was easy as wiring it up in the switch box and then wiring the light and motor on their own circuit at the fan. If you only have two conductors and a ground to your fan this switch won't work for your application. I have to say this is great product.

Switch looks and works great. My house was built in 1998 and there was a switch to turn the fan/light on and a switch that controlled the speed of the fan. the instructions were only for hooking up the on/off function and the speed function. I was able to figure out how to control the speed with this switch, but the on/off function is still controlled by the other switch.

Lutron makes the best dimmers!
Exactly what I was looking for. Had no interest in dimming lights in a bedroom but wanted a simple on/off for lights and slider for the fan, both working independently so you can sleep with fan on.

Two went bad
I had two of these in my last home and had no problems. Moved and installed two NEW Lutron Skylark SFSQ-LF switches in the new house about 5 1/2 years ago. One year ago one went bad. Another one went bad yesterday. My major concern (and the reason for only one star) is in both cases the sizzling and light flashing (when I turned the light on) led to a fear of an electrical fire or shock.

Stop standing on a chair
I have bought five of these for two different homes. My wife is too short to reach ceiling fan pull chains, now she doesn't have to. They are easy to wire as long as you have the extra hot lead usually red.

Fluorescent-compatible fan control is a winner
These are rare birds indeed - a binary on-off switch for the fluorescent lamp and a three-speed-plus-off ceiling fan control. "Ivory" is darker than "almond" apparently (but close enough if you've no other choices...). No wall plate included. Instruction sheet is clear and to the point. Will be getting more to replace Pass & Seymour stuff the electrician installed in new construction (was all he could source at the time) with a two-position dimmer on the lamp (causes circline lamps to blink and will burn out the ballasts).

Works well, However, if the slider is not fully pushed to the off position, you can be wasting energy without noticing it.
