Was looking for sturdy compact umbrella as I have quite the walk from parking lot to my office. My old Totes umbrella is generally fine except if pouring and/or windy. Even though this was spendy I went ahead and ordered. Opened once when I received to see how big it was. Went to use it this am as rain was coming down in buckets. Stuck my arm out the car door, pushed button, and shot up rod but wouldn't open. Tried to retract & couldn't get it to retract. Sat in car for good 10 minutes trying to get it open or even retract into compact position but nothing. Luckily I had my old Totes umbrella in backseat. Tried to fix this one when I got home. If course I missed return date by one week

This is the best umbrella I have ever owned. Not only is it perfect coverage for the rain, but the wind resistance feature is an added plus. Having ten ribs and a good-sized handle help with stability. I like the pouch that is included, and it contains a pocket with a cloth for wiping the umbrella.We travel a lot, and this umbrella is the right size for putting in a carry on or backpack.The warranty is also the best I've seen for almost any item. You cannot go wrong purchasing this umbrella. It may be the last umbrella I'll ever have to buy.

Update 05/15/20: I forgot to come back and update my review, but unfortunately about a year ago one of the metal arms broke and caused the top of the umbrella to snag. I also found it to be increasingly difficult to close as time went on. As a result, I can no longer recommend this product as highly as I did before.Amazon does it again -- connects me with a seller of a high-quality product that replaces what I thought was a pretty standard, generic tool (the umbrella) with a functional, thoughtfully-made, and beautiful version well worth the money.I have been using one of those "emergency" umbrellas they sell at the gas stations marketed for idiots who don't own an umbrella to buy at an upcharge on a rainy day for roughly a year. It was rickety, difficult to use, and impossible to share with another person due to its laughable size.The Crown Coast umbrella is a whole new beast. It seems to be very well made and sturdy; I opened and closed it numerous times, terrifying my dog in the process (she is the only one who hates it.) There is plenty of room to share it with a friend (or two.) It comes in a freaking carrying case and a cloth to wipe off raindrops!! That is some next level umbrella-ing right there. Plus all of the tasteful and lovely color options are a nice touch and eggplant purple is quite lovely.Stop right there, rainy-weather sufferer. This is the one you want, your search is over!

Broke within a week. The umbrella started malfunctioning after 2 days of using it. It would get stuck trying to close the handle. The worst part is how it broke. While trying to close it, the handle slipped out of my hand and it literally shot into the air like an arrow. Thank goodness no one was standing in front of me or they would have gotten hit and hurt.

Umbrella has lifetime warranty. Umbrella rib broke in heavy windstorm/rain. Company will not answer phone, recording directs customer to email. Emailed them 3 times to provide receipt and photo of broken umbrella rib. No response after 2 weeks. Warranty useless.

Bought this because of the lovely color and claims to hold up to wind. We've had windy rain lately, and 2 of the ribs are now broken. It is a little over a year old and has not been used much.

I bought this umbrella because of the 60 mph wind proof claim. Within a month, 2 of the ribs broke in a 15 mph wind. It also inverted and I got soaking wet. I would not recommend this umbrella.

It holds up to the wind. Doesn't cover all of me if I'm out walking but good for using from car to door. Not heavy, is compact and color is pretty.
