The ladle end holds a bit less than a cup.The weight and craftsmanship means I'll be using this ladle for many years.

The bowl is not as large as I thought it would be. Easier to keep it than to return.

Like others have mentioned, the size of this ladle was a surprise (despite the fact that I did notice the dimensions before ordering). It holds just under 1/4 cup, so this isn't going to be useful for ladling out soups or stews. I do use ladles this size for sauces, though, so the small size wasn't a dealbreaker. Unfortunately, viscous sauces like a velouté or béchamel stick to the wood (which is lovely) in a thick coating that is a pain to clean without wasting, so unless your sauce is something watery like a bone broth or thin marinara, it isn't going to be an ideal tool for the job. I already have a small metal sauce ladle and I will continue to use it as it is much less hassle to use and clean. It would make a cute piece of decor to hang on the wall, but I don't like clutter in my kitchen, so I'm not really sure what to do with this wooden ladle. I had high hopes, but it just isn't practical despite its attractiveness.

That is a really nice wooden spoon/ladle.i like it that it's made of olive wood.i thought i'd be eating my soup with it, but when i got it it looked deeper than expected.i always like wooden spoons and tools.This is a special ladle.This Bayu brand wooden ladle is handcrafted.it is hand carved and the olive wood ladle is unique with a beautiful grain.it is not sharp and very well made.i'm pleased with it.i will eat my soup now with my special olive wood ladle anyway, it's fun.Sabiene :)

This is not a soup ladle! It holds LESS THAN two tablespoons. And it cannot be used for a gravy ladle either, because the handle is 8" long. It is poorly shaped does not pour properly--that is, if you really find something you want to pour two tablespoons of.....Besides that, no attention is paid to deep flaws and knots in the wood: Mine arrived with the handle snapped in half where it broke at the narrow area on the handle.This is one of those third-party products that should not be allowed to be sold on Amazon.

This piece is amazingly beautiful. Looks really gorgeous in your canister holder with all of your kitchen gadgets. I found that the diameter of the spoon is slightly small, but, this could work well for smaller portion sizes. Washes easily by hand. Great for parties, it'll be the discussion amongst the group, for sure because it's a stunning kitchen piece!

This is such a beautiful ladle but be aware of the size as its much smaller than i expected. Im not sure what to really use it for other than decoration as it doesnt pick up too much at once but it will work well for soups or other liquids. Very well made and the marbling on the wood is so beautiful i love it!

It is beautiful to look at and the olive wood is so silky soft!! This is a little jewel for the kitchen.
