Pirate Stew: The show-stopping new picture book from Neil Gaiman and Chris Riddell

We checked this out from our library several times and finally bought our own copy. Cute story and love the illustrations too.

Story allows for a lot of creativity and voice intonation. Fun for kids, and bed time read alongs! Will definitely buy more Neil Gaiman books moving forward. Do check out the YouTube video of him reading the book, an absolute delight to listen to!

Get your best pirate accent on the go and get this book in your life! My little girl loves it. Rich illustrations, a really fun tale and gorgeous rhymes combine. It’s just great.

Livro infantil escrito em rimas com uma história interessante e divertida e ilustrações fantásticas. A minha filha de 10 anos leu o livro todas as noites durante semanas. É bom para crianças que estejam a aprender inglês mas não é demasiado infantil para o grupo etário dos 10-12 anos.

As a fan of Neil Gaiman's sci-fi/fantasy/other-world-ly writing and a lover of children's books with beautiful illustrations and strong storylines, I was really looking forward to this book. It definitely did not disappoint. The rhymes feel good, the story is charming and quirky, the illustrations are vibrant and lively -- I can see it being a great book for parents to read to their children. I also love that the book is large enough to feel big for young children (there's something about opening up a big hardcover book and having to use your full arm length to turn the pages when you're still small) and the full-page glorious illustrations tingle all your visual senses.After I received my copy, I got a second one to send as a Christmas gift to my niece. She's still a little too young to understand all the words, but I think it'll be a good book to expand her vocabulary through a fun narrative. Hopefully her parents will do a silly pirate voice for the Chef! :)
