We are pleased to announce the new GLS Audio G-Shell G45 Cat6 digital network snake cables. They are 100% compatible with the Neutrik Ethercon RJ45 connectors and jacks. You'll notice the G-Shell G45 connector shell can be easily removed from the RJ45 plug. This is done with a simple twist of the shell. No more cutting the Ethercon end off when you need a normal RJ45 plug. The G-Shell G45 has you covered! The ground has been lifted at one end to prevent unwanted noise and hum (required by some electronics which don't use a common ground). The GLS Audio G-Shell cables are designed with touring in mind. They are heavy duty with internal OFC "Twisted Pitch Controlled Spacing". The TPCS design will keep your cables working perfect with no data loss. As you are probably aware, standard Cat5e and Cat6 cable is not designed to be connected and unconnected over and over. Standard Cat5e and Cat6 will break down internally and stop working. The GLS Audio G-Shell cables with TPCS have solved this problem. Designed specifically for Touring, Staging, Professional Sound, Night Clubs, Concert Venues, Studios, and more. They are built for ease of use and built to last!

Solid cable but not very flexible
This cable is well built and high quality. My biggest complaint is how stiff the cable is. I wish these were more flexible. They are definitely designed to be in one fixed location. Not really designed to be used with a line6 variax.I spent some time trying to ware in the cable a bit and heated it up so it wouldn’t coil so much and managed to get a bit more flex out of it.

Robust cable, but WARNING - This cable was NOT designed to transfer phantom power
The product description boasts about solving ground loops and hum, however it does this by disconnecting the grounded shield at one end. THIS IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH CONNECTING UP PHANTOM POWER which requires a completed ground at both ends so the phantom power can be transferred through the cable. While the disconnected ground is by design, I feel the need for phantom power in an Ethercon connection is more common, and the deficiency is missing in the product description. FYI it is possible to take the connectors apart, find the missing ground, and carefully solder a wire to reconnect the ground, but it would be better if the manufacturer offered this alternate type of cable. To the manufacturer's credit, the cable is very tough with good connectors, but with the misleading description and dissatisfaction it created, I'm only giving this product 2-stars.

Buyer be ware!!!! Missing solder attachment ...Check yours for continuity (shield to shield)
We now live in a time when no one, NO ONE !!!, cares to check the quality of there materials before they ship them out to hundreds and thousands of customers. Just roll them out of production without testing them and box'm up.You know what, I am about to start my own products; actually made in America, and tested for quality, as well as, made available locally once again. That being said, the reason for such a poor review is this: I purchased three of these cables (100ft Ethercon) costing $75 bucks a pop. Only to find out that only one end of the shielding wire is attached to the ethernet cable on all three cables. I ended up having to splice the jacket and solder one end of each of the three cables to the connector. I thought in order to be shielded, the wire was suppose to extend from one shield to the shield on the opposite end. This makes no sense, there was an obvious soldering attachment on one end, but the opposite end showed no sign of any attempt to make the attachment. A simple factory check for continuity would have made this defect in the product known. I am sure there are people that have rated this product with 5 stars, not using for 4 channel xlr. But, when they do, they will get the most awful buzz, due to the missing ground from the break in the shield wire. Hope you get your productivity fixed before more serious people put you out of business.

High quality cable that DOES lay flat!
This is a solid cable, very strong and very high quality. I’m using this between a Behringer X32 at FOH position and an X32 Rack on the stage. As others have noted, one end of the shielding is not soldered, which was fixed by my soldering the disconnected side - a quick 5 minute job.IMPORTANT: some reviews mention that the cable does not lie flat - not true, it lies very flat, it’s perfect. When you first receive the cable you need to place one end on the ground and roll it out, rotating the entire roll of cable - do NOT just pull the cable off the roll or you will get coils all across the floor. If you roll it out it WILL lay flat. At this point, when you’re done, you can do the same in reverse to roll it up, but if you’re able to do the over/under coiling method, that works fine from that point forward (so the next time you use the cable you CAN just pull it off the roll, and do the over/under again to put it away).
