A reminder to keep the out-of-box APC cables if you want to monitor the power status from your PC. A bit expensive, but with the APC devices hidden from view the free APC app is great to have - and it requires this cable.

Bottom line, it just works and is a lot cheaper than an APC-branded cable. I had used a USB->Serial adapter on an older APC UPS, but that didn't seem to work between Win10 and this model. (PowerChute claimed it couldn't detect the UPS.) After switching over to this cable, it detected it just fine. This was the Business Edition. Shame on APC for not just using a standard (Type-A) USB port, but at least there are 3rd party solutions. Oh, one final note is that the description when I bought it said "RJ11", but the pic didn't match that and there were people stating it was an RJ50 as what is needed, so I took a chance. At the time I'm writing this, the "RJ11" note has already been removed, but if it comes back, at least the one I received was the correct RJ50.

Finally, a cable that worked. Synology sees the connection immediately which is running through an Atolla powered USB 3.0 hub since there are only two USB connections on the Synology. I'm using the back port; front port stays free. External hard drive works the Atolla too

works as it should.

Got this to replace the missing cable from an older UPS I put back into service. Worked perfectly as described.

Works perfectly as a replacement cord for my APC Back-UPS 1000 Pro. Plugged it in and the computer recognized the UPS right away. Downloaded the APC PowerChute software and performed the setup without any issues. Highly recommend.
