Thanks for having the stool Ikea stopped selling!
I have a stool like this from Ikea- loved it! Needed a second but Ikea no longer sells it. Ordered off Amazon and it's exactly what I wanted. Thanks!

So easy to put together!
This was extremely easy to assemble and it's a nice color even for a muted room. I use it to hold books and a road sign I have!

It's not the same wood they used before.
I have one of these stools already and love it. I bought that one ten years ago, or so, and it's held up really well. We needed another one for our pantry since we added shelves up higher. IKEA didn't have these anymore. So, I was pleased to see that Amazon sells them. However, the first stool I have is made with much denser wood than this one. That does make it heavier than the new one. But, the new one just feels less sturdy because it doesn't have the same weight to it. So, to me, the light weight aspect is a negative. My husband says the new one is made of poplar (poplar dents really easily...like my kitchen cabinets are made of...so- I'm not impressed with poplar). All that aside. It says the weight limit is 225 and I'm 250 and it hasn't fallen apart or broken yet.Assembly was a one person job. The instructions are typical IKEA instructions. I'm not fond of reading instructions in general and I got a few pieces mixed up and had to undo some of it and switch them. But, I managed it just fine in the end.I wish it was a denser wood. But it will do.I got this about 5 months ago, and haven't had any problems with it.

Easy for Kids
This stool is the perfect height for our young children to reach the sink and help out in the kitchen. Our 6 year old just uses the bottom step, and our toddler uses the top platform. I often use it to sit on or for an extra seat at the dinner table if needed. I would suggest oiling, staining or painting the wood if you don't want it to be grungy - It is raw wood so the dirt kinda just saturates into it.

whats not to love?
This Ikea stepstool was a beloved find that I've had for years.. but moving to a new house the hubs deemed it necessary that we get a couple more. We've been scrounging around on Ikea's website even went to the local Ikeas to find the stool and have been unsuccessful. At the local Ikea, they indicated that the US market no longer sells these so we were a bit disappointed. And then comes Amazon... of course someone had it on Amazon, sure it is higher priced than in the actual store but I mean you can't buy it in the store anymore.. so we bought 2. They both came very well packed with lots of bubble wrap with no parts or pieces missing. The husband doesn't use the enclosed Ikea tools to help put any of this stuff together, and uses his own socket wrenches, etc. The step stools were quickly constructed by the husband who then proceeded to put one in each of the locations we needed them. Since these are stepstools that are suppose to hold weight as you stand on them, they are not flimsy. They are also constructed of wood.. which is heavier than aluminum. So while these arent heavy per say they are heavier than your aluminum ladderAm i sad that these were more expensive than at Ikea? Yes but its a free market and well supply and demand.. I needed and that enterprising soul had some..

What's not to like?
Wooden step stools tend to be expensive, but not this one. One simple reason for this: it is unfinished bare wood. Not a problem. You can use a variety of finishes for it. I used Birchwood-Casey Tru-Oil because it is easy to apply (with a cloth) and does not drip. You'll need several coats of this with drying and light sanding in between to achieve a nice luster. The pieces should be finished prior to assembly. I'm sure a spray polyurethane would be easier and quicker, but it is not wood penetrating and might be less durable. This is real wood, birch I've read, and it looks good. Not laminated particle board like so many others that will likely deteriorate in a year.I can't understand any of the reviews that describe difficulty in assembly. The instructions are simple and very clear. The screws go in easily with the supplied allen wrench. The stool has an IKEA stamp mark, but I checked, and IKEA no longer sells this. Perhaps another vendor purchased their remaining stock. Yes, I know they used to sell for $19.95 by IKEA, but given the high quality of the stool, I had no problem paying $40 for this Prime delivered unit. It looks great and is just the right size for reaching higher cabinets or just sitting down on to tie your shoes. If you don't mind applying a clear finish, this is a fine step stool.

Not Just for Steping Up but a Good Height at 20" for Sitting On
This multi-functional stool is pretty much what I have been looking for. I wanted a 20” stool to sit on for isometric exercise and to double as a sturdy general-purpose stepping stool. Once I discarded the included Allen tool and ignored the graphics-only instructions, construction went fairly smoothly. Packaging was excellent and all the parts were present.I recommend the first thing to do is throw away the included Allen wrench and replace it with a real tool of the same size (wish I could tell you what size that is). Not only is the included Allen tool inadequate for turning the bolts (tight pre-drilled holes require considerable hand strength even with a professional Allen wrench), but picking it up off a hard floor requires something I lack. There are no labels on any of the parts and no guidance other than the near useless graphic instructions. I suggest laying out everything on the floor in a plan view to help visualize how things will go together. The finished assembly is worth my five-star rating, but the detractors cost this manufacturer one of them. The stool feels sturdy and durable. I recommend it for those looking for a really basic but functional stool that is strong but looks like it was designed to hang out in a classroom.

Solid and simple
Solid and simple. I've had one for a few years now and wanted another. My local Ikea was out so I looked here. And there it was at double the cost.

Roto y decepcion
Que decepción. El producto viene roto y reparado con una especie de cemento o masita de un color diferente. Además está en el escalón, en el lugar que más se ve!!!!!
