Does the job
For simple jobs at home at this price point you'd be a mug to add one to your workshop. A bit like a swiss army knife, it's better to have one than not.

OK for the price.
I wasn't expecting an excellent piece of kit for this price and I wasn't disappointed. It is adequate for what I want, though hasn't been used in anger yet. 0.5mm of backlash on both axes and the threads and slides needed a drop of oil. Not sure what the point of the sliding rule on the front face is. The scales marked on the adjusters could do with being engraved deeper and made darker; Quite difficult to see. First job is to elongate the slots in the clamp plates so they can be fitted in both directions.

Very nice
I was very surprised at the quality. OK its lightweight but it doesnt pretend to be anything else. Back lash is minimal and the operation is smoothy , excellent for model engineering.

Won't position X-Y accurately
Don't expect to get any accuracy with this table, it isn't capable of positioning accurately because of the backlash.I got this for drilling on a modelling project which requires positioning accuracy to 0.1 mm (or hopefully better). This table should be capable of that, if you believe the description, and the dials with 0.05 mm divisions on them! Even with a lot of "fettling" it won't come up to scratch, there's just no way I could adjust out the backlash. Unfortunately this is inevitable with the way it's designed. It will take a rebuild with proper bearings, and some other modifications to (hopefully) get something that will reproduce the same position time after time. Maybe this is a good starting point for a project, but if you're looking for a decent tool straight out of the box, this isn't it. It just doesn't do what it says on the box!

Great for spot drilling on the press drill but it's not a milling table.
Firstly anyone who buys this hoping it will magically turn a drill press into a milling machine, it won't! It's not designed to take the lateral forces involved in milling. But if you want an X,Y table for spot drilling it's just the ticket. For the price it's a very good X,Y table, with dovetail bed ways and adjustable gibbs meaning that it is adjustable and can give fair accuracy. Great piece of kit if used for it's intended purpose.
