Bought to run cat5 up to the rafters.
I could not locate my wire puller, so I jumped on Amazon and find this for a great price. The length of each section was perfect because of the clearance I had. I had no issues with it, worked as expected.

Works well for the price, not many issues
These rods work great for fishing wire through walls for the most part. I used it with 12-2 and 10-2 wiring. I love the snare attachment, it works great as long as you loop it around the wire a few times, otherwise it has a tendency to slip off.My only criticism is that a few of the threaded male AND female connector tips came unglued when I had to pull with force. A few male ends broke off when I applied to much tension at an angle. But once I knew what they could and couldn't take I haven't really had many issues with them. I'm on my second whole-home rewiring job now and still use the set.

Not a professional quality tool, but worth it's weight in gold when you need it!
Great tool idea. It made getting Cat 5e cable from the eaves to the center of the attic much easier. Unfortunately, the quality of the metal used to form the male/female screw unions between the pieces is poor quality and subject to break easily. This is not a professional quality tool, but paid for itself on my job. Now I have a 15 foot reach tool for the next job.

Brass rod connectors are very fragile
On the first time I used it to pull a single 12ga wire it broke at one of the brass joints connecting the rods together. It broke the male threaded end off clean with the female end. The pieces were tightened by hand so they were not over tightened. I pushed the rod through a gentle curve and attached the wire when it came out the opposite end. When I started pulling it back the brass junction about 6 sections from the end broke off leaving the wire and rod sections inside the conduit. I would not recommend it for anything other than straight runs as the brass connectors for the sections are way too fragile for anything else.

Great kit for DIY
I couldn't be more pleased with this item. The magnetic tip was particularly useful in my case. The rod ends are firmly attached to the rods. The threaded connections have significant length of thread engagement so the joint is strong. The tip ends are brass so the are not magnetic. There are no illustrations with the item. The best illustrations are in the Amazon listing which shows potential uses for the different ends.
