This was my first time doing a controller battery replacement and this little kit worked perfect. I couldn't tell you if other kits are better or worse but these batteries have both the original connector and the newer one for refreshed Dualshock controllers. I had the refreshed model and the tutorial video I watched mentioned that some batteries have both. Plugged it in and it turned on right away.Why did I buy this in 2025? I had a brand new Dualshock with a dead battery due to it not being used much for a few years. It seemed like a shame to have a perfectly good controller just broken so now it's fixed and good for some multiplayer when friends come over.

Grandkid bought a used playstation 4 from GameStop but the controller came with it was discharging so quickly before he even can play a single game for an hr. So I found this and replaced it in 3 minutes and now he plays all day long (after finishing the homework of course) and it's still going!

Batteries are pretty good. There run time is less than the original but for the price it's worth it.

Fortunately your controller is like a little puzzle and will only go back together properly one way. This sure beats the heck out of purchasing a new controller and anyone with second grade mechanical skills like myself can do it. Just be careful, there is a small and thin ribbon cable connecting the two sides of your controller together, it is easy to get back in the slots but is fragile.... I ended up replacing one of those as well.

doesn't hold name brand battery charge. But has tripled my batter life i had with my very old batter. cost effect so cant complain

Not only would this battery not charge but when we tried to remove it the plug was too snug and ripped the battery plug off the board, so that controler is junk now. It took two needle nose pliers and a tiny screwdriver to finally get it out. It was not in backwards, it is keyed so it goes on only one way.

I liked that the battery had 2 different connection types on it. At the time of my ordering, I was not aware that some Playstation 4 controllers had different batteries and or connection plugs. I had bought this two pack to replace a dead battery in one controller and a older battery in a second controller.The First battery swap in the first controller (dead battery) went as anyone would expect. Open controller, remove old battery, connect new battery, reassmble controller, Turn on controller, enjoy.The second battery swap, went slightly different where when opening the second controller, the battery I was replacing was half the size / specs as the new one and the other controller. I paniced a little thinking I had bought the wrong replacement battery.I just needed to use the "other battery connector" and everything worked as expected.My experience had alwsays been with that controller and its small battery. These controller last soooo much longer with a new battery and with a much larger one.

After replacing the batteries in my 3 PS3 controllers recently (with the same brand batteries), I decided to do the PS4 controller too. Replacing the Dualshock 4 battery was easier than the Dualshock 3.The capacity is supposedly double the original so we'll see how that goes over time. Happy so far.
