I wanted a smaller/lighter tool
I looked at shears at local stores and they were all big, heavy and expensive. I wanted a smaller/lighter weight version and found it with these Genesis shears. They work just fine for cutting metal roofing. I use them anytime I am cutting metal/tin for craft projects too. You can cut straight lines and around curves. I used them to cut out metal blades for wind spinners and found that I could cut straight lines quickly and then use my hand snips/shears to cut around tight curves. The price is very good for these compared to name brands and they work just as good.

Cuts 20 gauge stainless steel with ease!
I was a bit skeptical when it said that it would cut up to 20 gauge of stainless steel. I thought it would get bogged down. I was pleasantly surprised. I cut about 15' of 20 gauge stainless steel with no problem at all. I also used it for cutting .100" thick diamond plate aluminum. That's almost 10 gauge! I cut the diamond plate from the back side which makes it easier...but it did struggle every so often as it would get hung up on the raised tread pattern.... I'm happy with that since they never claimed it would cut that thick to begin with. Overall great value for the money.

It will save you time
It works, does what it's supposed to do. But is very heavy and I am working on a ladder cutting the tin off the side of a trailer house. If I get it at the right angle I can fly right through the job. If I don't it's slow going. Don't get me wrong it's such a great machine.

Easy crosscutting of 2" oval corrugated roofing
OK, guess what? This makes crosscutting 2" oval corrugated roofing a breeze. Worth the price for just this one job. Tool comes from Genesis brand from a company called Richpower Industries in Williamston SC. The given address is a small warehouse building in an industrial park with no signage. Comes with a real American-English set of easy read instructions. No real learning curve here. Just pull the trigger and off you go. 5 Stars. It is important to have the metal secured somehow to maintain control of the tool, especially on the corrugated roofing. My roofing was in place and the tool easily cut through two thicknesses where the panels overlapped.

Read the product description, not just the title.
On the box (and in the description I didn't read before ordering) it is only "rated" for up to 18 gauge steel. The 14 gauge is for aluminum. The "swivel head" is a joke, but I'm not sure how useful it would be even if it was easier. The brand sticker was upside down on the housing. Not a big deal, but does raise questions about their quality control. I was admittedly abusing the tool (cutting around the bend of some 16 gauge steel) when I broke the blade. It managed the flat parts fine, despite only being rated for 18 gauge. The blades look common to other shears, and the rest of the tool seems robust enough for as much as I will need it. It's cheap enough to pay for itself in a single use, and that's a good thing. You get what you pay for. I don't like the idea of disposable tools, but I'm okay with blades as consumables (especially when it's my fault that they break).

Time and Hand Saver!
I love this tool! I am so glad I bought it. I was trying to cut sheet metal with a pair of manual sheers and it killed my hand and took forever! This tool saved my hands and saved a lot of time! I was shocked at how easy they are to use. I am not super skilled with power tools and lack a lot of confidence using them, so I was naturally intimidated, but it cut through the metal like butter. It was actually fun! If you are trying to cut sheet metal, do not bother using a manual tool, get yourself this tool. I am so glad I did.

Don't buy
Does not cut the nip is so shallow ot won't cut siding for my barn Damian I went back to using tin snips, it was to much of a work out to get this to cut. If you had 28 gauge or thinner it might work. DONT BUY YOU WILL BE SORRY
