used this as a reference for my dissertation, was very interesting to read, made researching less of a slog, if you're interested in historical pirates anything by Marcus Rediker is a great starting point as it goes in-depth as to the comradery and reasoning behind people's decision to go into piracy

An excellent basic treatise on the Golden age of piracy. The author's tight focus and the book's brevity lead to the omission of issues which would detract from his central thesis, but a more comprehensive analysis can be found in Rediker's other works

Ce livre raconte la vie des pirates notamment durant l'âge d'or . Ce livre permet une bonne découverte sur le monde des pirates , il est source d'une documentation affinée , sur de vrais personnages de la piraterie , de vrais actes juridiques ... Je recommande ce livre pour ceux qui veulent être au contact de l'anglais , ceux qui s’intéressent à la piraterie bref il est accessible à tous . C'est un livre très intéressant , je le recommande.
