A Great Book For Our Times
I always look forward to Brad Meltzer's books - you had me with "The Tenth Justice". I have loved history since my college history professor at Michigan, David Lewis, taught two course that weaved through both U.S. history and business. Professor Lewis fleshed out and made human the strengths and foibles of the historical characters. There are so many "rhyming" lessons in history. When I hear people say that "nothing like this has ever happened", I know they haven't studied history. Brad brings out both the bitterness and partisan political divide of the 1860s and also the little known first plot to kill Lincoln before he even took office. As always, what matters in the participants is their character and courage. I knew some of Allan Pinkerton's personal background but nothing about Kate Warne, his 26 year old employee who becomes America's first female detective. What a great thriller to be brought to life by a great author. Thank You Brad! (And Josh Mensch).

LOVED it!
This book was more interesting and engaging than I imagined it could be, and I'm already a huge Brad Meltzer fan! I learned so much and felt like I was right there with President Lincoln as his agents rescued him from the pending assassination threat. So many tidbits that I've been sharing with friends and family over the days that I never knew before I read this book, and to be honest I've never enjoyed learning history like I did while reading The Lincoln Conspiracy. If Brad taught history on school, I'd be a lot smarter when it comes to the history of our nation and such, because he's such a great story teller. You must pick up this book and add it to your library- you'll be so glad you did!

Every American Should read this book especially those in high places
If you think you know some thing about our Civil War or Abraham Lincoln , think again. The same goes for the the theory that this war was not really about slavery. This mesmerizing book opened my eyes and mind . It contains a treasure trove of historical facts and data that consumed me. I read the text of South Carolina's articles of secession and was shocked at the ugly and hateful language. I dream that this book might find its way to our school system as required reading. And maybe find its way into the minds of some of our unenlightened leaders to literally teach them about our history. It is also a helpful backdrop for those trying to understand Black Lives Matter. Congratulations Brad
