Decent quality, but still my least favorite format for stereo digital audio signal transmission. The price reflects the quality of the cable overall, though other than durability, I wouldn't expect any appreciable difference in audio quality vs almost any other optical Toslink. It does feel well made and has good looks.

This is a premium product. From packaging to product it’s. Blue Braided cable is tough. Gold tips are well made too. Lot better than the one came with my Samsung sound bar. To be honest, I can’t tell the difference between the old cable and new one. Yet, I love this cable. Highly recommended

I'm really impressed with this cable. First impressions from packaging alone are that this is a well-made and luxury product and the cable itself lives up to the expectations. Very well-constructed and functions beautifully. A pricey cable for sure and it definitely won't be in everyone's budget, but if you're in the market for a cable upgrade and have the money to spare on it, I'm really happy with it.

Works straight out of the box. All good materials are used in manufacturing. Its presentation would be suited for a good gift.

Austere makes really good audio cables. I have several of their cables in my home theater system and I have yet to be disappointed. I firmly believe that a lot of super expensive “audiophile” cables are a total ripoff however Austere cables do seem to make an audible improvement (at least to my ears) even though the difference is very slight. Do you need to spend this much on a cable? Absolutely not. Will it make a crappy system sound amazing? Highly doubtful. But it is a very well made optical cable with secure connectors and gorgeous packaging. This cable looks and feels high end in addition to performing like its high end.

The Austere V series optical cables look great. The ends are made of metal with a gold plated connector that fits securely and snugly. The woven cover of the cable itself feels good and separates itself from the limp generic toslink cables it replaces. The cables carry a lifetime guarantee. If you are looking for icing on the cake and have everything dialed-in but don't want to spend Transparent money or cables, the Austere is the way to go.

Let me tell you, the packaging is very nice. This alone always gives me the feeling that the product will be of the utmost quality. Opened it up and the inside is velvet. Every part of the experience when opening it was incredible. So what did I think about the cables? It’s the finest. Not sure why it’s gold plated. Maybe to prevent it from corroding. This is one of my finest cable. I’m not much of an audiophile, so I can’t tell you if they sound good. I would think it should sound the same since the sound is all digital, transmitting from a light source.
