The battery works just fine so far. I received it and installed it today. I'm following the instructions on discharging and charging it 3-4 times so hopefully it continues to work as it promised.

You are wondering if you can successfully replace the battery on a Surface Pro. All I can tell you is that I have failed to fix very few things in my lift this is one of them. This replacement battery fits, but I cannot give better information because my laptop still doesn't function (probably not because of the replacement battery).I CAN give some insight, though: the tools that are supplied with this battery are of such poor quality as to be useless. To attempt this installation, you will need to aquire a T4 and a T5 TORX bit. The cheapo tools supplied look vaguely like the correct tools, but were never manufactured to actually function. I was able to remove ONE screw before I had to cut my losses and buy better tools from Harbor Freight for $7.99 that got the job done. When you are buying higher quality tools from Harbor Freight, you know you are dealing with some junk...There were no instructions supplied, either, but I cannot fault the seller for that- this is not a simple DIY task. You can get good instructions from Youtube, but understand that in order to accomplish this task, the glass screen must be removed, and you will probably NOT BE SUCCESSFUL in doing that. My screen was already detached, or I would not have attempted it.In summary, I have no reason to believe that this battery is substandard, but the tools supplied with it certainly were not functional, and the task is practically impossible for a nonprofessional. As a SERIOUSLY dedicated jack-of-all trades with a lifetime of DIY experience, I only approached this task under extenuating circumstances (as a last ditch experiment) and even I was unsuccessful. I cannot recommend that you try it.

Should have listened to the reviews. Battery did not work at all. Had a expanded battery so I Bought this to replace it and nothing. Hooked the old expanded battery back up and it worked so yeah. Also none of the tools work for any of the screws. Straight junk

The screw drivers it comes with dont work for half of the screws you need to take off to replace the battery

This repair might be one of your least favorite experiences. As for this kit, it does not come with the t3 bit you need. (t3, t4, t5) The battery was far more fragile than the original and separated down the middle during installation. Anyways, the surface pro 4 is an absolutely terrible design from Microsoft and karma will probably strike down Gates just like it did Jobs…and this kit doesn’t make the experience better. xo
