No directions were included however if you enlarge the picture from amazon.com it is easy to eventually figure it out. My mouse rat was chewing the cage and that was alarming because small black pieces of paint or flaking off. However when I added some natural wood accessories like the platforms and put some natural sticks from my yard inside my little guy started doing those instead. He loves this cage and so do I. FYI I rescued this guy from our spa after he had been swimming all night long and almost drowned. So I wanted to make sure to give him a nice life. I wanted to include a photograph however for some reason that option is not available here.

No directions, no way to get into the cage to clean it. I'm not even going through the process of returning it because for 116$, I expected a quality product. This product is sitting on my curb because that's how much I hated it.
