Cursed Vampire: An Urban Fantasy Stand-Alone (Creatures of the Otherworld)

Not war and peace
A rather interesting to read. I love that the World building is integrated into thoughts, words, actions, and situations as naturally as any of the conversations. There are minor flaws and insignificant loose ends, but it is better tied up than 80% of my recent reads. In all good writing, a good read, and no cliffhanger. (I SO hate cliffhangers!). Recommend. 4.6 star

Give it a shot!!! I know I know only it's worth it!
I'm a big fan of all things "urban fantasy" so I've read loads of books...Brogan...this is an amazing book for a third. I wasn't originally going to read because of the protagonist's age and then I thought vamp/uni? No way!!This book is well done she's 17 and she's been through a lot... oh no here we go. Only she has a steady learning and growing upwards. This heroine doesn't go from zero to 100 in her OP stats either and I loved this she felt real and Brogan does a bloody brilliant job on this. Here is the MOST amazing part to me... she knows when to go for help!! My goodness I was so happy about this you have no idea and I really hope this doesn't change! All these females heading off into potentially deadly situations all on their own is supposed to somehow convey strength. Only I find that what takes the most courage and the most strength is asking for help! We all hate to feel vulnerable or to show vulnerability by reaching out for help or advice... this is natural so her character doing the actual smart thing was simply phenomenal.I'm hoping to see these traits again in another adventure! Thank you Brogan!

this is great
Super fun. I loved it. I love when unicorns are bad news, villian-adjacent powerhouses. This was an all around fun read. For sure reading next one.

Enjoyed it.
The storyline itself was incredibly believable. The plot unfolded naturally, with well-paced twists and turns that kept me engaged and eager to uncover what would happen next.Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book!

A really good adventure for escaping
I usually don’t like young adult main characters but found this story to be really engaging. The characters are either likable or not, depending on the role they play, and the collection of unique characters to form a family are enchanting. The main character was not “woe is me” despite the horrible circumstances she finds herself in and the author is giving her time to grow up before romance strikes. I found it a really good adventure to escape to.

Fun and exciting
This author is getting better and better. When I thought, it couldn't get any more exciting, she tops it. Big cliffhanger though.

all her books are awesome!
I’ve read three of the stand alone books in this series! She is awesome! Her world building and characters breathe! She reminds me of Anne McCaffery, in that she believes in woman’s rights. Anne was more subtle in her incorporation of her core beliefs; but that doesn’t make Brogan’s work any less vital!Lots of tasteful innuendo, no sex!

Essentially an origin story or prequel...
... for a new spinoff series, & while it has an end-of-the-episode, happy-for-now ending, it's also holding onto some of the plot lines for the launching of the new series. Which I'm looking forward to reading, but agree with reviewers arguing that it shouldn't be called a standalone story. It's a pretty good book, and I also look forward to reading her series, but I can't help thinking how much more believable Tru'd be if she had a classy, clever, FAE-influenced way of talking (given her grandfather's raising of her) instead of sounding like a street juvie.I also wish the author would more clearly explain the difference between this world's non-angelic angels & not-necessarily-evil demons because from the little given, the two don't seem to be significantly different, outside of the glimpse of the life choices they make & the consequences from those. I don't get why she didn't just use different creatures that better fit her story's mythical build. As stated in my previous reviews for books 1 & 2, if you can handle some brutality & language (the brutality is less in this one, though unfortunately, the f-bombs spiked back up to 7 dozen!), there's a decently engaging story in here*CONTENT: as a movie, this would be rated R.-Possible triggers include some brutality & threatened rape,-Shifting back to human form is normally naked, secular attitudes toward intimacy with some explicit talk but no peeping tom porn scenes,-Language is worse than normal for most of us, & as noted, the f-bombs have gone back up to 7 dozen here &-Use of the Lord's Name trivially/disrespectfully (ie in vain) though none as curses, fwiw

fun read
My Thoughts:Most of what I am going to say about this book, I have already said in my review of the first two books, Cursed Wolf and Cursed Demon. All three books have great story telling quality, wonderful world building, and characters to love!Unfortunately when I bought this book when it first came out, there was no audiobook version yet. So I had to read this book the old fashioned way :(... it still finished way too quickly!Empirical Evaluation:Story telling quality = 5Character development = 4.5Story itself = 4.5Writing Style = 5Ending = 4World building = 5Cover art = 4.5Pace = 5Plot = 4Narration = 4.5Overall Rating: 5 out of 5

Addictive reading
When Tru's substitute Fae grandfather dies her whole life goes up in flames, being a half unicorn shifter and half born vampire is against all the laws of all the clans which means if they suspect they will kill her or so she thinks. This has nonstop action throughout, with shifters of all kinds vampires witches, and all manner of paranormal beings, there's even a stray cat who is definitely not what he seems to be. With a kick-ass heroine magic humor and an angel as a love interest, this book has it all. Be warned once you start this it's difficult to stop and just when you think you've figured it out another storyline bomb goes off leaving you franticly reading to find out what happens next. Brilliant read, Baz.

First meet
This is book 3 in the series but I don't think they link unless characters show up again,it was a while ago I read other books can't remember, so this storyline is about a women (who is only 17) who is half vampire half unicorn but something happens when she was 6 that she should of died from but a fae man took her in and raised her to be stronger but when he died his power that was helping her fades.with help from a very sexy Angel (love interest) and lots of strays that she helped a car and pixie and later a just turned vamp they become a team. There is romantic but not yet he is older (heaven knows how old) but says no because she is 17 even though she hasn't said a word about how much chemistry they both share (just that she stares allot but lots do) she is more focused on her mess of a life,he turned her down before she got to talk so she hasn't gone there.I like that about the series just hope there is not push and pull relationship between them,I loved the ending before she walked down the hall, she is way more mature for her age.I hope her story continues as it's left wanting more not really a HEA.the next book is about a which so don't know?

Cursed Vampire.
I read this book in a day. It was another great read from this author. I really enjoyed it from start to finish. The ending was satisfactory but I really want to know more about what happened next as it was a bit of a cliffhanger.Brogan if you read your reviews how about a continuation. As Tru the heroine is only 17 in this story there is much more to tell.An excellent read . Thank you.

Fabulous escapism read
I really enjoyed this book by Brogan Thomas and all the others I have read in this series. The characters are colourful and easy to imagine. The storylines are enjoyable and the plots good. The only problem is I get so immersed in the story that I end up reading too late must finish that chapter oooh just one more oh may as well finish the book. Can't wait to read more and I hope particularly that there is another book after this one definitely leaves open for more please...... Highly recommend reading the books you won't be disappointed.
