Quit Working After Six Months
Even though the screen was difficult to read in certain light, when the screen went blank in 6 months was the "last straw". Changing the battery did not help. Perhaps this is not waterproof.

Product is stated as waterproof and for outdoor use.
Product is stated as waterproof and for outdoor use. I placed the product in a semi sheltered area outside.Within a few days the LCD screen had water/condensation inside. Within a week or so the product stopped working. Tried with new batteries to no avail. Not impressed.

Very Impressed
I’ve been using a thermometer for just over 24 hours to monitor the temperature in the garden during the current heatwave.I’ve set it up so that it’s out of direct sun but then to test it placed a laboratory thermometer in about the same place as the sensor; I needed to move everything to take the photo however it was clear that the thermometer appears to be very accurate. It took most of the 24 hours to settle down but now appears to be performing very well indeed.Very easy to read and use - the hardest part is unscrewing the battery door at the back and knowing to release the top first, so that you can engage the battery - if I’d read the instructions first, I’d have known how to do that.

This is not waterproof as advertised
Bought at the end of May now in mid October. Outside in sheltered spot away from prevailing wind. After one or two chilly nights after rain but not heavy Display gone and obvious heavy condensation in display. Changed the battery. Max and min came back faint and bubbly. Put hairdryer on it medium setting to try and dry out Then put close to a radiator. After 2 days current temp returned faintly but still moisture inside.Brannan the manufacturers now say it is recommended not to put it in the direct rain. Unless it is undercover being outside it is going to get rain so it isn't waterproof as advertised. Brannan specialise in thermometers. I had an analogue mercury one which lasted years until the figures faded eventually I paid a bit more thinking I was getting what they advertise. Now I find I can only really use it inside in the conservatory
