Barrier cream
Bought the same thing at Winn Dixie for over $11!!!So Amazon’s price totally outshined the $11+!!!!Use this on our grandson when he’s visiting and also on my disabled husband because he’s confined to a chair a lot. Works well. The doctor suggested trying a cream with zinc oxide for my husband. Our next visit, the doctor was impressed.

It worked on my 5weeks old baby!
I finally had an 3hr straight sleep because of this cream! My friend recommanded it to me and didnt expect much. Because I have Aveeno diaper rash cream I got from baby shower. its made out of same igrediant of zinc Oxide ..about 14%... Thinking it will not make a big difference... I Was WRONG!I got this product yesterday afternoon and been using it for about 12 hours. Smells not very pleasant but my little baby sleeps better and not crying and fussy whenever she is doing her business. She started sleep better after three times applying! And I just had good three hours of sleep without her waking me up every 30mins! I am really excited right now cuz 90% of her rashes are all gone! This is my first Amazon review and when I saw my babies almost free of diaper rash, i had to write about it!!!!I have been fighting with this for a week and it wasn't getting any better until yesterday!Aveeno diaper rash cream worked too. It soothed her but it didnt heal them. Well... at least not fast enough. I think 14% zinc oxide is good for preventing.Anyways, I am so excited to have my happy baby back with better sleep schedule!

My go-to diaper cream
For the first several months with my oldest child, I used all-natural diapers creams as needed. At one point, my son developed a serious diaper rash with broken skin. I tried many natural remedies to no avail. I finally tried this max strength Desitin, and with consistent use his skin healed and the rash was gone within a week. I have continued to use it on all my kids when they have rashes and before bed. In my opinion, it can't be beat. It is very strong and provides a barrier to moisture. Because of this, I prefer to apply it with a Q-tip to avoid having it on my fingers. This extra 'step' is totally worth it for the protection this cream provides.

Works Great on Bottoms
I have been using this on my little boy for the past 4 months with great success. He came home from the hospital with a diaper rash (Nurses told me not to use anything- so much for that :-( ) so I started using the Desitin with a dusting of cornstarch baby powder on top and it was healed within a day. Now, we use it as a preventative thing at each diaper change again with the powder. At night (he sleeps through) I do a dusting of powder, then Desitin, and then powder again and he has not once had a red bottom despite being in a soaked diaper for 8-10 hours! It has ever so slight of a fishy odor but it doesn't bother me... he still smells baby fresh. I didn't even notice it until my husband pointed it out actually. I highly recommend this!

Best diaper paste.
Best diaper cream, by far. A little smear of this stuff, and the rash is gone within a couple of hours, or overnight if it's a particularly bad one. I don't even bother with the regular strength cream. The maximum strength (purple) product is much more pasty; the regular strength (blue) is more liquidy/creamy and doesn't stay on as well.I have also tried Butt Paste, Triple Paste, plain vaseline, and A+D products. I like putting the A+D ointment on my babies at night when they do not have a diaper rash, as it prevents the rash from developing in the first place. If your baby has a spotted rash that this does not eliminate, try a mild anti-fungal like Lotrimin, as it is likely a yeast infection. Hopefully this tidbit will save distraught parents some of the frustration that I experienced in this situation!

Works well for my child
My son is now 2 years old, and in his time of using diapers we have sampled several different diaper ointments in search of the one that works best for us. My favorite so far, and the one we have used the most, is Desitin Maximum Strength Original Paste (I usually buy the 16 oz tub for the house, with a smaller tube for the diaper bag), with the other Desitin formulation (in the blue packaging) in 2nd place. This formula is thicker than the blue-packaged one. They have worked very well to prevent diaper rash, or heal it if he does get one.I do have misgivings about some of the ingredients [BHA (butylated hydroxyanisole), methylparaben, and "fragrance"], based on current concerns over their possible health effects, but I have not yet found another ointment with ingredients I am more comfortable with that works as well for my child. (If you have recommendations, I'm happy to hear them!)
