Best Tie Rack Ever ...and I have owned quite a few
I have tried everything from a manual circular tie rack that hangs from my closet rod to an expensive Sharper Image motorized tie rack and nothing has worked as well as this one. It is easy to install, holds lots of ties, and is convenient to use.Just to address a few things from some other comments about this tie rack:1) EXTRA PLASTIC TIE HANGER CLIPS (PTHC) - I have yet to find these exact "plastic tie hanger clips." What you will find are tons of the regular PTHCs, like the ones that usually come with your ties when you buy them at the store. Although it is good to know those will work with this bar, they are nowhere near as good as the ones that come with the bar. The ones that come with this bar have three distinct advantages - so distinct in my mind that I will likely buy a third bar in order to up the PTHC capacity of the two bars I already have. I think it is worth the money to do so.1) These PTHCs do not have a sharp tooth on them - the tooth is smooth. As you can see if you look at a regular PTHC, the tooth or "lobe" on the top of the two fingers is often somewhat sharp. That is done to keep the tie on the PTHC while customers look at them in the store. But when you are pulling a tie on and off, over and over again, it starts to tear at the back seam of the tie. The PTHCs that come with this rack have a smooth lob that makes it easy to pull the ties in and out without damaging them. And no worries, the ties still stay secure.2) These PTHCs have offset fingers. Instead of looking like a straight line when you look at them from the side (like the rest of the PTHCs on the market) the top fingers is offset a little bit. This helps in two ways. It makes it much easier to get your tie on and off the PTHC, plus, it effectively allows you to hang two ties from each PTHC. Caveat - if the ties are thick, it isn't as easy to get them on and off as if they are thin, but I think the trouble is worth it considering that it doubles the capacity of the clips you have and a good number of ties rarely come out of the closet anyway.3) The plastic on these PTHCs is about twice as thick as the normal ones. Because these fit tightly over the rode I think it will be important to have tougher plastic if I hope to get longevity out of this unit. Also, it means that torquing them a little bit when you are trying to fit two thick ties onto one PTHC won't be a problem. And there are no worries about the thickness meaning that less of them will fit on the bar. The bar can handle more PTHCs than it can ties. The ties are the thick part of this operation, even if you only hang one from each PTHC.2) SUBSTITUTING A LONGER BAR - Another reviewer mentioned that they got a longer bar from the hardware store...I found this to be next to impossible and after a day of search, pretty much gave up. Most hardware stores carry the same brand and sizes of hollow tubes as each other and this size is not one of them. I visited two independant and two chain hardware stores and could come up with no bars that would fit. Even if I wanted to pay the $20+ for a solid aluminum bar, the standard size that is closest to this is just slightly too big to fit in the brackets. I guess you could heat the plastic ends and try to force it in but I wasn't willing to try that. This material is called "hollow rod" if you want to try to search it out, but it appears to be just slightly bigger than one standard size down and slightly smaller than the next size up. It is possible to get a standard size dowel and use that to connect two of these rods but that gets you very little extra length. These rods are around 11 inches long and I was looking for a total length of 27 inches. I could span the 5 inches with the dowel (which fit quite snuggly inside the hollow tubes but still might sag a bit if I tried to span that size gap with the weight of all those ties) but being that its diameter is smaller than the outside of the hollow tubes the hangers wouldn't slide past that gab smoothly. I am going to check with a local shop that specializes in metal tubing to see what they have but it is likely expensive. So, I simply installed two of these side by side. It urks me to no end to see that 5 inches of wasted hanger space between them but for the price of these I think it would make more sense to just buy a third one then to spend extra time trying to find and buy a longer rod.3) HANGING MORE THAN 30 TIES - As stated by others, you can easily hang more than 30 ties. I didn't try it with a single tie per PTHC but I bet you could fit 50 or 60 ties on one rack. The only caveat is that depending on where you install this you might not have a lot of extra room beyond the end of the rack, which is necessary when you overload it. By this, I mean room for the ties to squeeze out the end of the rack. I doubled up my PTHCs with two ties per, and was able to fit 25 PTHCs with 50 ties. The bottom of the hanging ties is wider than the width of the rack so if you are in a tight space you might not be able to do this. Plus, packing them in like that might make it difficult to see all your ties but I know my ties pretty well and have them hung by color so I don't mind them being packed tight. And there is enough room on the back of my door to allow the lower parts of the ties to be wider than the top of the rack.I hope this helps. I will try to post some pictures so you can see what I mean about the PTHCs, as well as what it looks like when you pack more than 30 ties onto the rack.

With all due respect to our well meaning daughters and wife who have so lovingly given us tie holders, tie racks, and so many ties throughout the last 30 years, this product does the job, keeps the ties organized, well sorted, flat and ready to use. Ties don't slip off, they can be color sorted according to RGB or CYM, or rainbow wavelength preferences. Very practical.Ties should never be compressed into your sock drawer or smashed into an over-stuffed shirt closet. Forget about slippery peg-boards or closet hanging slip rings. When you consider that most ties are made from slippery silk, the last thing they want to do is drape over a constantly jostled slippery tie peg. No other solution works as well as this thing and the days of picking up your ties in the bottom of your closet are over. Best of all, it's less than 12-bucks. I bought two of them.I recommend that if you have something different, drop it in the nearest trash can and buy this one. This is the last tie rack you'll ever buy; the last one you'll ever need... but probably not the last one you'll ever receive. So do NOT show your new tie rack to your daughters and wives... just quietly install this beauty in your closet and be happy. And when loved ones come bearing gifts of new-fangled tie rack contraptions, just remember to say "thank you"..........and don't let them see you drop it in the garbage.

Great Product for the Price
Just received and installed this tie rack. Works just as well as I hoped it would. Tie hangers fit just snug enough on the bar that you won't accidentally knock other ties off when removing the one you want. Hangers hold ties nicely while leaving it relatively easy to remove and replace them back on the hanger.Contrary to some of the other reviews I read, I can't imagine putting more that 30 ties on the rack (that's the number of hangers it comes with). With all 30 ties on the rack, there isn't much room left. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because I feel that it could have been a little better made. Though I had no problems with the install, the plastic end pieces felt a little fragile, like they might not last a real long time. I would have gladly paid a few dollars more for a more substantial feeling product. For the price you pay, however, it is a very good product.I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a better way of organizing their ties.

Perfect tie solution.
I searched the internet for a tie hanger for my boyfriend. I bought this based on prior reviews, and it was an amazing hit. It has a very small footprint, so you can hang it anywhere you have some wall or door space. the hangers are flexible plastic, so they easily go onto the rod, and it's easy to put the ties on. It lets the ties hang nicely so they aren't wrinkled, and it really lets you see your selection of ties - it makes matching up your outfits really simple. Although my boyfriend had never seen these tie racks before, it was exactly what he wanted and he is very happy with them. The quality of the product is good, also - it's not cheaply made.
