MeeFar Folding Hitch Mount Cargo Carrier Basket and Bag Combo

My husband and I finally bought this after a friend suggested it and now we're wondering why we didn't buy one sooner!! We have 4 kids ages 12 years thru 8 months and we have a suburban and have always just packed it down when we went on vacation. This led to kids cramped and stuff piled everywhere so this was a real game changer!!! Could seriously kick our tails for waiting this long! It was easy to put on, sturdy, bag is waterproof so if it rains your stuff will not get wet and it holds sooooo much stuff. We had 2 suitcases, bag with about 12 beach towels, 2 bags of toys, pool floats and other items piled on this thing and the bag zipped up perfectly and we secured it with the straps that are included. Our stuff didn't budge the whole 6 hour trip! Once at the resort, we unloaded our stuff and my husband took this off and stored it in our room easily to save space in the parking garage. Again, not sure how we did without this so long!

Was easy to assemble. Looks good. And it gives me the extra storage space and hauling space I needed for my travel trailer.

Exceeded my expectations! I was on a 1000 mile journey cross-country and needed more room than my Jeep offered. I did not want to drag a trailer behind me. I researched my options and found this product. there were others that were similar at a higher price. However, I really liked what this cargo carrier offered with the water proof heavy duty bag and many straps and 500 lbs capacity. I had never used a product like this before but after seeing a youtube video of a guy using one attached to a Honda Odyssey, I figured that I'd give it a try. I put four totes back there and my bike! Just in case, I placed items that were of lesser needs in case something happened. I can tell you that I was super impressed. the Carrier, the straps, the performance was exceptional! It did not falter, and now I can use it on family trips! It is very compact to store because of the folding feature and it was a great purchase that I will continue using. Bottom Line: A very practical cargo carrier set that does its job well. Mounting and removing the basket is straightforward, and the 16 cu. ft. bag keeps gear totally dry, even if repacking the bag back into its original container takes a little muscle. WHAT WORKS WELL: Easy Mounting & Removal: Quick and simple to put on the hitch receiver and take off when you don't need it. Reliable Waterproofing: The heavy-duty 16 cu. ft. bag keeps luggage, boxes, and gear protected from rain, road splash, and dust during highway drives. Spacious Basket: The 60" x 20" dimensions offer plenty of surface area, and the 6-inch side rails keep loads secure and easy to strap down. ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT: Tight Repacking: Folding the waterproof bag back down tight enough to fit into its original storage container is somewhat difficult once it has been unpacked and unfolded. REAL-WORLD USE CASE: I used this carrier and bag setup to transport extra luggage on a road trip. It installed smoothly on the hitch, held everything securely, and kept all our gear completely dry throughout the drive. THE VERDICT: I hold back 5-star ratings on principle because no product is entirely without flaw or friction, but this carrier setup delivers solid value. If you need quick extra storage for travel and don't mind spending an extra minute wrestling the bag back into its storage pouch after the trip, it’s a great buy.

We recently used the MeeFar hitch mount cargo basket for an 8-hour road trip and were very pleased with its performance. It’s exceptionally well-built and sturdy, which gave us peace of mind while carrying extra luggage on the back of our SUV. Assembly and installation were straightforward, though the basket is quite heavy. I managed to mount it by myself, but having an extra set of hands would have made aligning the hitch and pin easier. Once installed, it felt very secure. A key feature is the hitch stabilizer, which made a noticeable difference in reducing movement and maintaining balance during the drive. We also tested the folding function before disassembly — it worked smoothly, exactly as advertised. While the basket comes with two straps, I recommend using additional tie-downs or ratchet straps for extra security, especially on longer trips. I didn’t fully trust the included straps to keep everything in place for the entire drive. Overall, the design, ease of use, and durability lived up to expectations. We’re very happy with this purchase and look forward to using it on future vacations. Highly recommended!

Fit perfectly on our 2012 Chevy Traverse. The back opened without needing to remove the rack. There was enough space between the car and the rack that we could still load things in the car with the rack attached. Stabilizer helped and no squeaking or sway was heard/felt. We didn’t need to stack items very high, so the brake lights were still visible. I highly recommend. Very helpful!! I recommend 2 people for placing on the car— the bolts can be a little tough with one person. I also recommend using your own wrench set to tighten everything.

Got this for our 2026 Subaru Forester. Fits nicely in our Curt Hitch. It came with a lot of nice accessories. It feels well made. I can install it myself but it's a lot easier with a second person. I like how it is far enough away that you can still open the hatch and get in there with it loaded up.

Great quality EXCEPT the first time we used it the bag and strap and net all melted where it is closest to the exhaust even though the exhaust points down and is below it. 😢
