This is not a motion sensor lightbulb that has to have the little bulby part on the end open away from the lampshade. This light bulb uses radar. You can have it hidden in a beautiful light fixture with a beautiful shade and not worry it will still be effective. It can sense motion in the other room and turn on the light so that you will have light when you open the door. It’s super wonderful for people who need to get up at night and go to the bathroom and see where they’re going or go to the kitchen to get a drink of water in the middle of the night. You don’t have to search for the light switch or wonder if the lights are going to come out and you don’t have to worry about turning them off because a few seconds after you leave the area they turn off by themselves . Another good thing about that is the kids can’t sneak in the door and go up the stairs at night pretending to be in from their dates earlier either as the lights will turn on and you will know that they came in the door. It’s a wonderful product. I have it one lamp in every public room and bathroom with one of these bulbs. You turn it on and forget it. It only turns on and makes light when it is dark in the room and there is motion somewhere around it. Love them.

Works with the downward facing lamp.First not sure why it doesn’t run on then tried at night it works perfectly.

They turn on with motion and that is great... but it seems like they shut off in about 10 seconds. For me 10ish seconds is too fast.I don't know if these are going to be used much longer - it would be great to have the ability to set how long they stay on so this product isn't for me.

The motion sensor light fiztures on each side of my Garage and back door failed to function.So i jumped out the motion sensor in the and screwed in one of these Radar Bulbs .Adding shiny aluminum foil behind the bulb helps them function much more better .

This little beauty of a bulb solved a big source of concern for my 88 year old mother in law. She had been stressing for weeks about how feel more secure about her front entryway. She lives in a rental, and also needs to watch every penny, so installing a fixture was problematic. On a recent visit I ordered these and by the next day, with a total of two minutes effort on my part this source of worry was gone!We did use an outlet extender to make the motion detector extend below the fixture's glass. I may try without it as the detection is a bit too sensitive and reacts to leaves blowing in the wind.I do wish the amount of time the light stays on could be extended a little. But other than that this is perfect.

Works as described and saves money

Did not do as described. I had to touch it for it to light, then it was not consistent with motion detection the next day; would not light up. I will return this product.

This light is very sensitive to motion and that is what is needed where I'm at. If you have neighbors who's windows would be in the vicinity of the light you might want to think twice about putting it. Bit is you want to annoy them this would be perfect.

Tried these in multiple locations. They turn on once for about 10 seconds and then never turn on again. The motion sensing technology doesn't work. They don't work. Period. Save your money.
