Very good product
Excellent tape to use on wide surfaces where all of the glue will adhere to, also easy to use and apply. My only drawback with it, it is difficult to apply to narrow surfaces like floor molding.

Just "OK"- needs to be more sticky
Last time we painted a few rooms, we used a tape similar to this & it worked well. When I went to local store to purchase it again, they were out of stock, so I ordered this Easy Mask from Amazon. This is a tape used for painting. The top part of the paper is sticky, the bottom 3/4 is just paper.I have to say I'm a little disappointed with this particular tape. This is being used to cover the baseboard trim while I paint the wall. I've attached a photo. The 1st time I put it on, I only stuck it to the top of the trim, & came back later in the day & it had all fallen off. 2nd try- I pressed it to the top of trim, & then down the front of the trim. It sticks ok, but really should have more stickiness to it. It is easy to remove, & I like this sized tape to cover areas (rather than the blue painters tape).I rated it 3/5 stars- it's helpful when painting, but needs to be stickier so it's easier to use.

The IDEAL masking tape for carpet
Have you ever painted baseboards in a carpeted room? Well, I postponed this task for a long while because I just couldn't find the proper way to complete the task cleanly... that is, until I discovered this tape by chance. It is IDEAL for masking carpet. Because it is stiff and tacky along one edge only, it allows you to wedge it under the baseboard. To really get it under, I roll up the sticky edge a bit, then press down on the soft carpet with both thumbs; that way the tape is forced sufficiently under the baseboard. I use the regular blue tape to protect the walls above the baseboards. Once the paint has dried completely--I wait 24 hours--you can remove it cleanly. I have now painted about 200 linear feet of baseboards without any issues. This tape is rigid and rarely tears lengthwise. And it leaves the carpet intact when you remove it because it is not as tacky as the blue tapes. The result is great! In some spots the paint may collect at the lower edge of the baseboard and form a line, which is later concealed by the carpet fibers. If you are really meticulous, you can scrape off this deposit. I use a plastic kitchen spatula to do that.

a not quite sticky situation.
I really hate to diss a product , but I really can't recommend these. I know I put a 3, but that's because I can use an extra piece of masking tape to hold it in place. The adhesive on this is not good. the conditions have to be perfect for it to stick. however, having said that, if you can get it up somewhere near where you're going you can use it, use some masking tape to hold it in place. To bad because it's the perfect width for doing trim jobs. I really wished they had used better adhesive, it would be a 5 star product.

An even wider Easy Mask painting tape!
Similar to the 2", 3" and 6" versions of the Easy Mask painting tapes, the wider 9" tape provides good paint/stain seepage protection for larger areas, such as the glass inserts of front door side lite panels and the mirrored panels of wood framed sliding glass doors (a couple of applications where I have used the wider 9" tape with good success). I have also used the 9" tape to mask an area for marking the mounting holes and drywall cutouts for a flat panel TV installation with a full motion wall mount bracket and an accompanying sound bar, both installed with new wall outlets for in-the-wall wiring. This installation required a lot of layout markings on the wall to ensure that the required clearances were achieved between the electrical box cutouts and the TV/sound bar wall mounting brackets. After all the layout markings were made, the tape was then easily removed prior to any drilling and cutting without leaving any damage or unwanted marks on the wall. I have never seen this wider 9" tape available in any of the local stores, so thanks to Amazon for making this product available!

Could be better. I read the reviews and bought it anyway ...
Could be better. I read the reviews and bought it anyway thinking they weren't as familiar with this sort of thing as I was and I can get the seal right. It could use a better grade of adhesive. A little bleed-under, not much. Where it did get in though was because of a lack of adhesion, and I was using all clean freshly primed surfaces and it is hit and miss.

A wider version of a good painting tape!
I was pleased to find that a 6" wide version of Easy Mask painting tape is available on Amazon! I have used the 2" and 3" wide versions of this tape with a sticky strip on one edge for years to protect base molding and window/door casing while painting. I use this wider tape to adhere to a wall for marking a level line for shelf and large picture/mirror hanging without putting marks directly on the wall (the tape is wide enough that a 2" wide level won't transfer any marks to the wall). The tape is then easily removed from the wall without any problem prior to drilling holes for the required mounting hardware. A 9" wide version of this tape is also available on Amazon that can be used the same as the 6" wide tape. And for painting, the 2" and 3" wide tapes are also available on Amazon (I can only find the 2" wide tape still available in any local store!).

the paper is only a little buckled and the deckle edge which I love is preserved
I prep my 140 lb cold press watercolor paper with this tape, placing the glue portion over the deckle edge of the watercolor paper, then stapling the tape to the hemasote board. I place each staple as close to the deckle edge as possible without puncturing it, and about 1.5 inches apart all the way around. Then I brush water onto the watercolor paper where I want it. The tape holds down the paper sufficiently flat while I paint. When I peel off the tape, the paper is only a little buckled and the deckle edge which I love is preserved. I've been told that if I use 300 lb paper or heavier, I will not have to tape down the paper to keep it from buckling. For now, while I'm learning how to use watercolor paints, the taping works fine.

Don't ignore the reviews like I did - terrible product.
We used this product to mask off a wall and a ceiling. It was on for less than 48 hours. Exactly as everyone said, it left a terrible sticky residue behind, with the cardboard tape "melting" into the areas it was applied to. Ironically, the clean up of the residue/stuck tape made a HUGE mess - the exact areas the product was meant to protect. It would have been way easier to have not used the tape and cleaned up any paint slips.Avoid this product at all costs, unless you like extra work.
