Intex 12ft X 30in Prism Frame Pool Set with Filter Pump

Found it on sale for $94, great price. Our 6yo loves it. Leveling a spot is the hard part. The actual pool setup is really easy, follow the directions, have a little help and easy cheesy. I suspect the pump is at least half what it should be but so far so good. As far as getting the chemical setup figure out I'm still working on it, but I can tell you the HTH super shock at Walmart works and that only 2oz of powder by volume was too much, took Free Available Chlorine (FAC) to 5 on HTH test kit, which is too high. Im talking about measuring out powder in a glass measuring cup then walk around pool pouring in shock spreading as much as possible. The rang is 1 to 4. It's a great size for our family of 3. Adults can literally step over the side and put a step stool for kids. Help kids in and out for safety anyway and no ladder needed. I of course (disclaimer) not telling you to do exactly what I did, just saying what works for me so far. Will update soon.

I have a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old, we live in a part of California that easily gets over 110 degrees for long periods of time in the summer. Actually, this summer, when our average number of 100+ degree days are 30, we had over 70 days. A pool is a necessity. My 4-year-old has sensory processing disorder and anxiety, which equates to one very nervous kid. When we spent time at friends homes with a pool he would sit on the steps and not venture in past his knees, even with a full life vest on or with me promising to hold him. I wanted to get him in swim lessons, he NEEDS to learn to swim, but I also needed to give him more exposure to a pool to take down some of his anxiety before trying to put him in swim lessons. We looked into getting a gym membership for the summer, but it was going to be $300 dollars. I have to admit, getting my kids dressed, ready, out of the house, using a potty, and snacks packed for any kind of outing is a huge feat in itself. So while I was already balking at the thought of $300 for a membership, I knew we really wouldn't use it often because it just wasn't going to be easy. I started looking for an inexpensive pool we could set up at home, but I didn't want it to be too deep. Ideally, I wanted it to be shallow enough that even my 2-year-old could stand up in any area of it. In my search I came across this Intex pool. We had a Intex pool briefly the year before, the kind with the inflatable ring around the top. My sister had bought it used, it and gave it to us when she didn't want it anymore. We set it up and within hours the ring failed, causing the pool to fail. We found the hole, patched it, filled it up again, to once again have it fail and almost flood our house within hours. We threw it away. So I knew I did not want to deal with one with an inflatable ring top. This fit our needs exactly. And being only 30 inches high (water height maximum 24 inches) was perfect! I started out with it only being filled halfway. I worked on safety with my kids, enforcing pool rules, always have an adult, no trying to climb in on your own, and how to stand up if they lost their balance and went under the water. They begged me to fill it up the rest of the way. Within a week we did. At the maximum, 24 inches deep of water, they were able to stand with their head easily above water, but then using a kick board or woggle they could also get horizontal and practice swimming and kicking. I bought dive toys and let them practice reaching down and picking them up (they would have to submerge their ears in the water to get them). Because it was in our back yard, we were able to get in the pool daily. We have had it up for 2 months and today I am finally draining it because our temperatures have cooled down too much that its not at a good temperature anymore. When I ordered the pool I also ordered a pack of filters, the intex solar cover, a mini chlorine floater, and a net. We never used a traditional cover, and only used the solar cover when it needed to warm up a little. The kids did spill the chlorine tabs out of the floater and my husband choose not to pick them up. I didn't know until the next day when I looked in and saw the blue design on the bottom was ruined in large portions from the chlorine tabs sitting on it, and moving around with the water current. I'm not sure if it's going to hold up through storage for another year, it definitely feels like the lining was damaged by the tabs, not just discoloration but it feels cracked. Even with that happening, I would 100% buy another next year if the damage doesn't hold up for another year. And now my husband has hopefully learned his lesson to not leave chlorine tabs on the bottom of the pool for 24 hours. Maintenance was easy, only having to keep chlorine tabs in the mini floater and the water stayed clear. One time the pool lining started to feel a little slimy and I realized the mini chlorine floater ran out of chlorine. Filled it up and it was fine the next day. I ran the filter in the evening after we were done with the pool for a few hours, but I didn't like running it while my kids were in the pool for concern they would get their hair stuck. (My son may have got his tendency for anxiety from me.) My 2 year old has been in swim lessons for a month now, and my 4 year old starts next week and is so excited. This was absolutely worth the money just for that alone. We will definitely stick with Intex and especially this style of pool until we can finally afford to put in an in ground. But I didn't even want an in ground pool until the kids knew how to swim, so this was perfect. UPDATED: My kids are now 6 and 4 years old and we are still using this pool. We are setting it up for the third summer now. The discoloration on the bottom is still there but hasn't compromised the integrity of the lining. We haven't had to patch or repair the pool. The filter did die at the end of the year last year (lasting two summers), so I'm back looking at new filters. I'm hoping next year they will swim well enough that we can get a deeper Intex pool, but so far this one is perfect.

Just ran across the original review request from 2 years ago. We put it up again this year. Super fast and easy since are space for it just remains tarped off for it year round. No leaks and no filter problems. I have never used a cartridge filter before we purchased this pool for the grandkids and questioned if it could keep up, but the water stays crystal clear with a three inch chlorine tablet floating and replaced every 2 weeks. Just the right size for the 6 and under crowd!

We used it for 1 summer but then it went into our burn pile. Nothing wrong with it. Everything worked great but for 2 people it was just too big and a lot of extra maintenance. We got a portable jacuzzi from Walmart instead. Lots of room for float toys.

At first thought poles were missing but found them. Pool very easy to assemble. Bought this as replacement for the same kind of pool we had for last 3 CV years. Nice but not as sturdy as original

So far so good. This is the largest pool I have felt comfortable enough to buy for my little ones. The water is not too high and I didnt get a ladder so that it is not as easy to get in, well unless you are already older or taller. Easy to setup, took about 45 minutes.

I bought this pool based on reviews so I thought I would add mine. For the price ($80ish) best investment for summer fun. I have a very active 7 year old boy and this pool has saved my sanity this summer. We do have a community pool but when's it's so hot who wants to get in car & drive to pool etc... Set up was easy, my 21 year old daughter & friend had it up in under 2 hrs. We took advise & put foam squares down & a tarp and it worked great. Bought the floating chlorine tab thing and it does a job great. Also got the pool cover (giant bubble wrap) but great to keep the bugs out of pool during night & to keep pool clean. Only negative is the filter doesn't always work & when it does not sure how much it really filters but no issues with icky water yet and we've used it all summer. I've barely 5'1" and I can sit in it with my head above water. Hoping to use next year if we pack it up right.
