Thermos doesn’t stay hot as long but we are ok with it

I’ve had it with this coffee maker! Luckily I stored my old one in the basement to tide us over until we get a replacement. First of all, it makes weak coffee. It takes nearly twice the grounds to produce the same strength coffee that our old ‘r. Coffee coffee maker made and I think that’s due to a couple things- how fast it puts the water through and the small diameter of the drip surface. Second, since the water goes through so fast and in 1 spot, the thing overflows on a regular basis. The grounds dump over the edge of the basket and clog where the coffee goes into the carafe. That mean it leaks out the side. I bet the constant spills are damaging our cabinetry! It has overflowed on us dozens of times. Third, it requires regular purchase of filters to try and get an even drip. This thing was a waste of money.It’s no easy to clean because it makes such a mess so frequently. You have to unplug it and hold it over the sink awkwardly while you shoot water into its side to get all the grounds out and brown water drains from somewhere inside the machine itself.I liked the thermos carafe and the detachable reservoir, but those features mean nothing if the thing is such a pain in the ass.

This was to replace a previous Mr. Coffee that had lasted for several years.
