Amazing portraits with one fabulous still life. Great book that really helps you to understand David Hockneys mind set and way of seeing. Extremely inspirational.

Eventhough I paid for the second hand book, looks like I received a new one! Great joyful art.

Disappointed because the book cover was ripped in several spots upon arrival. Book looks nice though, waiting for a replacement.

It's a great work. 82 portraits and a still life But the quality of reproduction leaves much to be desired. Wish the quality was better.

Great book. Includes a career overview with photos that is nice to put this current series in context. The photos are large and excellent quality. If you are a Hockney fan this is a book for you. I purchased the week before Xmas and the promised delivery date was about 1 week but it came in 2 days.

This was the hardback catalogue published to accompany the major exhibition in 2016; I was unable to get to the show, but this beautifully presented volume is the next best thing.What it doesn't replicate is the spectacle of a wall-full of Hockney`s bold and colourful paintings which were really intended to be viewed as a single, tour-de-force concept; the portraits themselves are technically good (as one would expect given Hockney`s talent) though they may fall short of some dedicated portraitist's aims.It is always important to remember that all artists work with particular goals in mind and are not tied to a single notion of what the subject entails.The book presents all the paintings in full-page, full-colour plates which enable close study; a thumbnail gallery of the paintings are reproduced at the back of the book.As always, the texts are helpful and informative with plenty of input from the artist himself.Do use the “look inside” option in the product description above.

Enjoy Britain’s greatest living artist. A life time of experience and it shows. His use of colour never fails to excite the eye.
