Good Book
Really interesting articles, but definitely for college, not the high school level. The audience is college students since many of the articles are geared toward college topics. Also, discussing politics might be okay in some districts, but I don’t dare go there, so some of the issues wouldn’t work in some communities. I wish there were a version of the book for middle school. I like the rigor and the questions. I also like the thematic structure.

It is sufficient for the English 101 class I am taking at this moment in time
It really helped me out in my English 101 class. All the essays were very helpful for my essay assignments and if your local college is charging you more for this exact book out there, then you’re better off getting your book here. It all depends on the college though. Whichever works best for you, you’ll still end up with the book you’ll need

Diversity
This book is excellent. It brings about controversial topics from both points of view and helps you further understand the issues of today

It was Required Reading for my English 3 Class
I was asked to give a review. This book was required reading for my English 3 class. It does the job, I suppose.

Purchased For College
Had to buy this book for college, with no financial aid! :( The readings are alright, but nothing to rave about. Book quality is quite poor, standard paperback and the pages feel like that cheap brown paper you used in primary school. I only say this because the book was $80 so the quality does matter if you’re paying that much.
