It does what it says it will do
I needed something lightweight-ish un-assembled because I live on the 3rd floor of an old building and carrying something this size assembled up the stairs stinks if it's even possible. It's still like 150 lbs in the box so use a hand truck and an assistant. You might have to do some light modifications/improvements on this. It's made out of pressboard so if you try to use a screwgun to put in screws you may strip it out. I probably wouldn't have ordered it if I had realized. It's still OK. the critical center piece showed a split upon hand tightening (see pic) and I have been assembling stuff like this for over 40 years, so not my fault. Luckily I noticed and stopped tightening. Would have sent it back here but I needed this thing to work like now. Figuring gravity would affect this once loaded, I fabricated a support to go underneath the center piece and I recommend you do so as well, especially if you are going to put decent weight in it like a vacuum cleaner. I fell like a rear/center support should be included, because, you know, pressboard. Also if you need to shim it to level I feel like the pressboard might collapse at the corners so I cut a piece of plywood to put under the whole thing and shimmed that. Probably should have screwed it to the bottom for additional bracing. My building is over 100 years old and the floors are far from level. Maybe they could put in some corner reinforcements? It feels sturdy enough once fully assembled, I don't know if you could move it to a new house assembled though. If you follow the directions and go nice and slow you should be fine. When it says "these things must be straight" they mean it. The hinges are adjustable so you can get the doors level. Mine is just the slightest bit off when adjusted fully out. My drawers worked perfectly although they seemed to work a little better when I swapped their positions, but I thought they should be exactly the sameAs others have mentioned the top is not laminated so you'll need some contact paper or somethingSo it's OK, some improvements could be made. didn't like the split of course but I just worked around it, if I was a person who didn't have some experience and the tools to deal with it I might be more upset.

Where You Place it is Important
I bought this cabinet knowing that it might be flimsy based on other reviews and those reviews are correct. It needs more horizontal support than what is designed. On the bright side, at least for me, it worked in my favor. The space that I intended for the cabinet was almost an exact fit. Anything that didn’t have a little play wouldn’t have been able to slide, shove and cajole into place. See my included photo. Even with the play it was a bugger to get into the cubby.Tight space aside, this is an important thing to know, it does best when it has two walls to lean on and secure it to, three is perfect. I have the cabinet tight to the left side wall and rear wall. I did put in the top safety strap because it is tall and I didn’t want it to fall in case of earthquakes or other natural phenomena, me putting too many heavy things on the top shelf. I also put one long screw into a stud on the left side and this cabinet is going nowhere. The construction is probably easy but since I had to build it in place, my tiny laundry room, it took a little time, most of my day because I was working out the logistics as I built. I didn’t exactly follow the directions because it was impossible but for most people it’ll be okay as the directions were easy to follow. My modifications were because of space only. I had to leave the cardboard backing off because frankly, I couldn’t get back there to nail it on and since it’s cardboard it doesn’t really contribute to any stability. In getting the doors and drawers level and fairly even I had to drill new holes for the right side door and raise it so it wouldn’t interfere with the drawers. The left side only required careful placement. In another review someone said they leveled their drawers by tightening the inside slides. I tried this trick and it worked. While the doors and draws aren’t perfect it’s good enough for government work.Overall it’s a good looking cabinet and with its placement and my own attempts to secure it to a wall I think it’s pretty sturdy. Most importantly you have to be aware of what you’re buying. I have furniture from Ethan Allen and this isn’t even in the same universe but the price is right at less than $300 as getting a built in would have cost 9 times what I paid.

It was okay while it lasted
Update: I called the Sauder company for a warranty claim. I didn't have high expectations. But it was very easy. I explained that I would like a new door shipped to me & the lady gathered my info & is shipping one out to me right away. They provided excellent hassle free customer service. It a fairly plain cabinet but it did it's job. We use it as a "coat closet" in our living room, right by the entrance to the house. We have no closets etc (123 year old house) so we put our bags, most frequently worn shoes, coats, etc in here for 2 adults, 1 child. But 9 months after purchase and one of the doors (the one above the drawers) fell apart at the seams. All of the them. Now this door comes pre-assembled. So it wasn't that we assembled it poorly. It comes preassembled and we only had to screw the hinges on & attach it to the cabinet. Well, it fell apart. We used wood glue on the seams and the wooden pegs to put it back together but that only lasted about a month and it fell apart again. Wish I had bought the insurance, but I didn't.

Nice Wardrobe.
Not sure where the one star reviews are coming from but we didn't experience any of their problems. From bringing the box into the house, assembling the cabinet and disposing of all packing materials was about four hours total. When assembled all was square and straight. Right hand door needed only about 1/8th inch adjusting. As others have noted the top is not finished (and that seems a bit tacky) hence the four star rather than five star rating. While not the sturdiest piece of furniture it is a $200 piece not a $1000. For our purposes for a guest room it fills the bill.

Excellent customer service, good product
Wanted to comment on Cymax store customer service – panel S, the one that goes in the middle, was quite damaged during shipping. Getting replacement part was a very pleasant experience. Responded right away, placed order for replacement right away and part was shipped the next day. Got it within a little over a week. will now shop with these guys with even more confidence. Good product, seems though as items made is USA are a bit more sturdy than this one, this one is from Indonesia but, overall good quality and as expected.
