Fantastic journey through history of the greatest fashion magazine!
What joy is to sit down and ready this magical book - especially during long winter afternoons! Great journey through decades of fashion. Dynamic narration makes you don’t want to put down this book even for a moment. Well done ! Not only for fashion enthusiasts! Highly recommend !

Dull
A rather boring and unoriginal book. The news is taken from articles and texts already known, and there are no direct experiences and no relevant interviews with insiders. Unforgivable mistake: not having included Sozzani's Vogue Italia.

Believe me ... This book is full of surprises ... nice ones !!
It's not a coffee table book - if that's what you were thinking - or hoping. It's a serious study built on light anecdotes which trawls through the history of Vogue. It's a fabulous insight into a business model that remains influential and unique - despite the numerous attempts at copying. It's written as an easy read and stays interesting throughout. It's a good book.

OK but somehow lacking is passion or excitement.
Well written, well researched but I detected no real reason for the book. It lacks any revealing episodes and is workmanlike rather than engaging. There are many things I felt were missing especially given this could have really explored how Vogue has become synonymous with glossy. So, an OK book but you’d find much of this out by a few Wikipedia searches rather than buying this book. The trick to engaging the reader and using words to lift off the page, whatever the subject, is the difference between the author of a really great book and a good one. This is simply another book on the fashion shelves.

Missed opportunity here. Would be great if there was a mix of photos and narrative.
This book could have been amazing,if only there had been far more photographs. I’d love to have seen pictures of anything related to Vogue magazine, as it would have broken up the narrative, and added to the reading experience. A few black and white photos showing Vogue editors have been inserted, however nothing ‘glossy’, as the title suggests.I feel that the author has missed a wonderful opportunity here. It is a shame, as the writing is very good. On the whole though, I have given three stars, because the book does not work for me as a story about one of the most iconic fashion magazines of our time.
