Don't Forgot to Remove the Plastic Tip Cover of the TOSLINK Cable, Before Using It !
AMANKA Audio Digital to Analog Converter is working fine with my cable TV box. From cable box, Video/Audio is sent to TV, via HDMI cable directly. So I get picture from HDMI. But I have turned down the TV volume to zero, so I am not using the TV speakers at all. Then using TOSLINK/Optical cable and AMANKA Audio Digital to Analog Converter, the digital sound from cable box is converted to Red and White RCA cables, connected to my old Audio/Video player, which is connected to 5 surround sound speakers. Therefore, the final setup is: TV picture from HDMI cable. Surround sound speakers with help from AMANKA audio digital (TOSLINK/Optical) is converted to analog (RCA) sound. For those who commented here that audio digital to analog Converter is not working properly, perhaps they forgot to remove the plastic tip cover of the TOSLINK cable, before using it. Please see the photo.

Optical Plug Doesn't Fit Box Or TV and Needs To Be Reset Every 24 Hours
Ugh! I wish I had read the reviews more closely. As others have said, the optical plug/wire doesn't fit my TV correctly and it doesn't even fit in the box it comes with. While it doesn't mention it anywhere in the description, the manual tells you that you need to RESET THE UNIT EVERY 24 HOURS! Who wants to go behind electronic components and do that every day? Not me. I'm going to return.

Shipped with broken Toslink cable
The media could not be loaded. This was an evening of frustration. I use all the components a product ships with when I test it out, and this was no exception. Short USB lead and Toslink cable perfect for plugging into the back of a TV. Plugged into a set of speakers with a 1/8" stereo cable. Nothing. Swapped it out for a dual-RCA to 1/8", still nothing. Tried a USB power supply, thinking my TV wasn't putting out enough power, nothing. Finally grabbed the optical cable from my main setup and lo and behold it worked. Thanks for half an hour wasted.Annoyances aside, both outputs work just fine, and I was able to run it off my TV power. There's a delay in the audio, but it's only really noticeable if you have the source and converted playing at the same time. If you have options you could play with the delay but considering you're using this, you probably don't.Cheap little box does what it says on the label. I wish it had a volume control for what is clearly labeled a headphone jack but is actually line out, but that's fine for my use case. Also would be much nicer with a working Toslink cable, or none at all.
