Impressed enough with the product. Appears well made perfect size and shape. The grip as well as the rest of the device has a soft rubberized coating; no cheap shiny plastic to this tool. The laser light button was on the left; for a right handed person, this is an easy thumb press. However, once you set it, you don't need to go back to it unless you don't want the red dot on the target. The trigger activates the instant read device and the laser light comes on and will display temps as you point at surfaces. Release the trigger and the laser light turns off but your temp remains locked-on the display for just a bit longer, then the device turns itself off. Doesn't get any easier. I bought this to measure surface temp on a stainless steel flat top griddle i bought for my gas Weber grill. The thermometer on the grill, of course, only measures air temp and maybe the metal holding the thermometer in the lid: not a true temp at the cooking surface. My new Cappec DIT gives me an instant read as I scan the surface of my griddle, then I make temp knob adjustments. I've learned that my griddle temps are not what I thought they were. This tool demystifies surfaces temps previously unknown to me. To confirm with a known temp, I pointed it at the surface of some boiling water; it hit 212 F. degrees, give and take, as the surface was rolling and bubbling. So far, I couldn't be happier with this, it's works as expected, and the price is right. Recommended buy!

Works as advertised. Can't speak to exactly how accurate the readings are, but cold stuff reads cold and hot stuff reads hot. For $12, not a bad little tool.

It was smaller than I expected but it works great. It was nice having the battery included since I don't normally have 9v batteries in the house. I took it right down to the basement and found many cold spots that need more insulation. I accidentally dropped it on the concrete floor and it didn't even get a scratch. Looking forward to getting a lot of use out of it.

It's a nice idea however it's not exact. But it give you a general idea. I bought it to tell me the temperature of my fish tank. It's several degrees off.

Accurate and reliable! I use it to have the correct temperature when I'm changing the water in my aquariums!

Don't let the price fool you, this is a pretty high quality device that works very well. I'm having a blast with it and driving my family a little bit crazy telling them what the temp. of everything is....I picked this one because it runs on a 9V battery vs. the other options which run on AA or AAA batteries.

The Fahrenheit wouldn’t work and the machine never turns off. I had to take the batteries out due to it continually making noises. I returned this product and purchased from a different buyer.

Exactly what I needed for my ball python enclosure. Reads extremely accurate, I've tested it anywhere and everywhere. Came with a 9 volt battery. Shipping was fast. Highly recommend.
