I find myself not using these all that much now. I bought 3 of them and the plastic frame used to attach all the accessories all broke within days of each other. So, I have no way to attach all of these accessories that come with the lights. To be frank, it was sort of a pain to have to use them anyway since it was not easy to unsnap the frame from the body of the light. Adjusting the light intensity seem to cause an unnecessary amount of pressure and there was no sort of tactile indication for the power button. In other words, I often had to physically pick the light up to remind myself and visually see where the power button was to adjust the light intensity. This is very inconvenient when you have multiple of these set up and have to go to each one to find that button. The battery life is short. I felt myself under a lot of pressure to rush my photo sessions before the power ran out of the light. They do come with a lot of nice accessories such as color gels, diffusers, honeycomb and barn doors, etc,. For the price, I was actually quite happy with the amount and type of accessories. Update: I am updating my review after some brief contact with Smallrig. Smallrig made everything right immediately for me which I greatly appreciate. It is great that I don't have to resort to buying the next lighting option for me which would cost me about twice the price of these SmallRig Mini LEDs to do the same job. Smallrig stands by their products and I am impressed. I have many photography accessories including other products made by SmallRig. All of my other SmallRig products have been of high quality from day one including their Pix M160 LED panel lights which have been my main work horses for my photography lighting for a while now. It is great that I can continue to use these SmallRig MIni LED lights as intended for my shoots.

Game-Changing Lights for Macro and Nature Photography
I picked up this 3-pack of SmallRig RM01 Mini LED lights mainly for macro photography, and I’m honestly blown away by the results. Having the ability to position multiple lights at different angles makes a huge difference in how a subject comes to life. The detail, color, and texture these lights bring out is incredible. Even outdoors, they’ve been powerful enough to overpower the sun when I wanted to highlight flowers and add depth to the shot. The fact that they’re compact, portable, and come with multiple color filters just adds to the versatility. I’m especially looking forward to fall—these are going to be my go-to lights for capturing leaves and seasonal colors in a completely new way. If you shoot macro, nature, or just want portable fill lights with a lot of creative options, this kit is an excellent choice.

Highly functional set, no ability to dim
Love the set. I use it to light scenes of miniatures (Warhammer, the like) and take photos of them with various effects. The three lights allow for pretty much any lighting needed and the attachments (magnetic) turn them into small stage lights, allow for colored lights, spots, etc. Pretty much anything big lights do, but for ~1/56 scale. I would wish for a little better ability to dim the lights. 3 levels can be chosen from, but lack the flexibility I would like. The stands/tripods area little oversized for the set, I think, and the hotshoe connectors, while lower are inflexible, so sometimes creativity is needed when lighting a scene at this scale. Would absolutely recommend, though.

Unbelievably cute, not perfect but super useful
edit, 18 Dec 2023: customer support sent me a new light! Thanks! ------------------- edit, 11 Dec 2023: I still love these little things, but I have recently noticed that the little plastic pieces for mounting all the gadgets, the rectangular frames with the magnets, well they are basically disintegrating. Like, literally falling apart on their own. I guess that means the plastic is basically really cheap, because I have plenty of plastic objects around that are 25+ years old and they're fine. --------------------- The first thing to know is that these lights are small. They look like they should go with a Barbie movie studio playset. Everything fits together and they're extremely easy to figure out. The little carrying case is amazing. Of course they're not super-bright, but for stuff like product photography they're fine. Most of the accessories either snap on to the front or they attach via magnets. The magnets aren't super-strong so things like the little adorable barn doors will fall off if you sneeze, but it's so easy to deal with that it doesn't really matter. The tripods have little extension arms for when that's necessary. One caveat is that the snap-on parts of the product require either very sturdy fingernails or a little screwdriver to overpower their resistance, but that's not a huge problem. The little carrying case is amazing. I was able to use them to create a Star Trek gel background for a Zoom meeting because they're so tiny I can hide them anywhere. The batteries are not big but they lasted around an hour at one of the higher output settings.

Silicone diffuser falls off and replacement has hefty shipping fee
Device is often a little too bright. It doesn't get dim enough. I lost the silicone diffuser piece because it fell off during use. A replacement was $1 plus $10 S&H. Took roughly 2 months for the replacement piece to arrive. My experience has not been great; I likely won't shop for their products again.

These are not powerful lights, and the batteries don't last for a long time, but they are bright enough for lighting up small spaces, like cars, and small enough to keep them hidden, even in plain sight, if you know what you're doing. They excel at being accent lights, and you can shape the light extensively using the included honeycomb grids, barn doors, snoots, and color gels. Magnetic accessories don't leak any light. Without any modifiers, the cubes make a 1m light circle with very soft edges at 1m distance.
