I had checked this out of our local library when I needed to put up pickles. It has really good up-to-date recipes and instructions. I had older cookbooks that had recipes, but they would make a gazillion pickles at a time. This one had good recipes for smaller batches, with clear instructions. I liked it so much, I ordered one for myself so I have it and don't have to run to the library every time I want to can.I highly recommend it for anyone starting out to can, or who wants to produce smaller batches of items. It has other recipes which I hope to try in the near future that appear to be outstanding.

Great all-in-one book! Easy & enjoyable read & reference for a novice at canning. This book not only explains the basics, but has great lists and recipe's that I will be going back to again & again. I love the big colorful photo's & glossy pages that will wipe clean if I spill on them. I had no idea where to start and zero canning experience but I'm can't wait to dive in now!

This is a great book for information about canning, especially if your new to canning. It has great recipes with easy instructions on how to prepare the food and which canning process to use, pressure canning or water bath. Instructions for freezing foods is also in this book. I'd recommend this book from new canners to experienced canners.I bought this book with the understanding that it was new, when in fact it is NOT new and there is writing in the book with bent pages. I was charge 18 and some change which I was fine with thinking it was new. Also, the seller left the sticker of 7.99 on it from wherever they purchased it from. I don't care, but it's strange not to remove sticker prices when you resell something and mentioning it's used would have been nice instead of letting one believe they are buying a new one. Overall, the book is good, and I will keep it and get good use of it.

Easy to understand and the picture quality is fantastic.

I bought this book 5 years ago when i first began canning with a beginner kit. I am now canning a couple hundred jars a year! I have many books and the benefit of the internet, but where do I go for a recipe or basic advise and answers to my questions? ...To this book. my copy is literally falling apart that I use it so much and friends are always asking about my recipes or advice and it always comes back to this book. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Get an extra copy, because once they try your pickles or beets, you will want to give this as a gift. Everything is here, from choosing jars to stepping up to pressure canning. Yes, you CAN CAN!

I have used several of the recipes and they are good. The only thing I didn't find was how to freeze or can sweet peas.

The book I bought was in better condition than I expected, wonderful.. waiting time was shorter than I could have hoped for….wonderful experience…packaging was a first class job
