Lionel Lighted FasTrack Electric O Gauge, O36 Curve Track, Pack of 4, White

Way brighter than the picture shows it as. The track pieces are clear and light up very bright!

Ordered this track set to be able to run my grandfather's vintage (40yrs+) O-gauge Lionel on around the base of our Christmas tree. The track goes together easily and is very pretty when it lights up, but as other have mentioned, it doesn't come with a power cable - you'll need to provide one of your own. Additionally, not knowing much about trains, I didn't realize that this isn't out-of-the-box compatible with older trains that you can't control with an app; it doesn't include a transformer of any kind, so the first time we tried to run our train on it, it shot around the track at top speed. Luckily it was a relatively easy fix. We opened up the bottom of the terminal station and replaced the connector to the power source with a simple FasTrack Power Wire, which we then connected with an old-school transformer we picked up at a local hobby store. Track still lights up even with the change in power source and now we have control over how rapidly the train runs. Looks great around our Christmas tree!

Had to spend $5 at a local hobby shop to get a short cord that let me hook the track to my transformer. That was lame.Once I got it hooked up, I found that the lights on one of the track pieces stayed lit, instead of turning off after the train passed. That was also lame.I reported the product defective and requested replacement, which Amazon sent. I replaced the defective piece of track and all was good.With that out of the way...track works as advertised. It is an attractive addition to the Christmas tree. Kind of expensive for what you get, I think $99 would be more reasonable.

You do not get the wire to hook up,called lionel customer service to inquire how I could obtain the wire needed,customer service representative acted like she could care less about helping me,so the outcome was send it back,never to buy Lionel products again.

It's a neat product but has some issues. First the white color does not match the curved lighted track nor does it match the color on the box. (see attached picture) Lionel used a different LED on the 10" straights than on the O36 curves. The second issue is that one of the rails does not have power. When a car travels over the track section is closes a connection from outside track to outside track which causes the LEDs to light up. I don't like that effect but that's just a preference. The bigger issue is that with well used engines, they'll stop on the lighted tracks due to the inferior connection. The Polar Express is almost unaffected but the Pet Shop Express doesn't work well at all. Yes, we've cleaned the engine's electrical contact points.
