Invaluable tool to install a J-block in existing siding
I needed to install 2 J-blocks in existing vinyl siding. As the J-block base gets mounted to the house wall behind the siding, I needed to pop the siding loose to get access. It took me longer to get the Amazon envelope open and the cutter out than it did to figure out how to use the tool and pop the siding loose. You just jam that sucker up in there where the joint is, give it a tug and the whole piece of siding comes loose.Once my J-block base was installed, and my siding trimmed to clear it, I put the joint back together, gave it a bump with the heel of my hand and the whole piece popped back into "lock". I haven't worked with siding much....I was surprised how easy this was to do once I had the right tool.

Works great but lasted only one session
Used to replace two sections of damaged vinyl soffit that were being used as decorative siding. Would not have been able to get job done without it but it snapped at the fulcrum point just as I finished putting the final replacement section back on. May have been using it wrong but as I was just replacing one piece in the middle of the covered area I had to use it to pull the locking leg/lip of the new section over the lock section of the existing soffit. That was when it snapped. There are multiple pictures already on Amazon review showing where the tool has snapped at the fulcrum point so I was not surprised..but still disappointed as there is so much metal/heft to the handle but apparently not enough at the fulcrum point. It made the job possible but only lasted one job. At this price point and with all the likelihood that I will never need to replace vinyl siding again its worth it...if I knew I was going to be working with siding on a regular basis I would look for something sturdier.

Works with vinyl and aluminum siding!!!!!
First off let me say this little tool works great. In to take off old aluminum siding from the garage to replace siding in the front of the house. I bought this tool hoping it would work. It did! I was able to remove the pieces I needed with out denting them and was able to install them with as well. This little tool made the work easy as can be. I read in other reviews this tool did not work with aluminum siding. That is completely incorrect. Well worth the seven dollars.

Works great to remove siding, for Remove & Replace
Earlier in life, I sold vinyl siding and windows, so I knew my way around vinyl siding tools. When we bought the house we are currently remodeling, there were a couple of door and window changes in the plans and I knew that would require some siding removal and reinstallation. This tool is tops for removing siding that is already hung. Just slide it in and pull it down to get it started, and slide the tool to unhook the connection. Can be used to pull the siding back down the connect a piece in the middle of a wall. Very versatile, well built, and a nice inexpensive tool to keep around if you do any work to or on vinyl sided homes.

Perfect tool for fixing loose siding!
I watched a few online videos of how to repair loose siding. I watched 2 different men pop it back on with nothing but their fingers and strength. That wasn't working with my manicure, or my average female strength. This tool remedied that! It may have been invented to remove siding, but it sure helps you re-install it too. Once you get the hang of how you need to use it, it makes the job go pretty quickly. For me, it is probably worth twice what I paid.

Works great
I bought this tool to use in repairing some siding on my house and it works great! For those that don't know, the purpose of this tool is to reach in and allow you to disconnect the upper piece of siding from where it latches in to the piece below it. This allows you to bend the upper siding up out of the way and access the nailing strip of the lower piece so you can remove it. Once you put in a new piece (or re-attach the old one) you can then use the tool to latch the pieces back together again when you're done. If all you want to do is rip off all of your siding and replace it, you don't need this. Just go at it with a pry bar. BUT if you just want to carefully remove a row or two so you can do a repair under the siding and then reinstall it like nothing happened, you NEED this tool. It worked perfectly for me and you can't tell at all that I had the siding off.

works, but can be broken
This was very cheap, so no big complaints. I did get the several pieces of siding off that I really needed to, using it. Later, I was struggling to remove another piece, and the metal part of the tool just tore off. My siding has been in place and undisturbed for over 30 years, so it was not an easy process for any tool.

Works great
I have used siding removal tools before but the others were really thin and flimsy which leads to the tool bending and letting go of the seam. This tool is nice and rigid. Used it for the first time last weekend and it worked great, much better than the others I had used previously.

Love this
I only had a couple of small projects where I needed to pull some siding, but this sure made it a ton easier. Very glad I bought it instead of fighting with the siding.
