Cons: box it comes in is cheap madePros: stone is wide and long good for chef style or larger knivesSeems to be good quality stonePrice.This is not a bad stone at all and compared to some other stones along the same lines is a real bargain. The box is cheap but with reasonable care should last a long time. Other stones I have compared it too cost twice as much for a smaller stone. I am going to keep working with it but I'm not super impressed with its sharpening yet. I have an India oilstone that seems to do a better finish job but my knife is made out of Elmax steel which is known to be really hard so I may need more time. I would definetly say this beats a lot of these 3 and 4 sided stones as they seems to be overly complicated and keeping it simple is key to knife sharpening. It does not come with any oil so you will have to provide your own. This could either be a great beginner stone or someone a little more practiced would get good use out of this as well.
