Works GREAT!!!
These are absolutely the best fruit fly traps that I have found. During the summer, we have tons of produce and always end up with fruit flies. I bought this trap and within a few hours, there were at least 20 flies in there. Every few days I empty it and refill with either the included attractant or apple cider vinegar. Both work well to attract them. I also add a drop of Dawn to help break the surface tension, otherwise sometimes they will float around for a long time. However, they don't escape! It's great because it does not tip over and it's super easy to open, rinse, and refill. We have 3 of them now and they have really helped control the fruit flies in our kitchen during harvest time !

it works!
I am writing because this is just too exciting. It works great! When I opened it after a few days I saw one little black spot...I was disappointed. Then, I looked again, a little closer...and I saw that, in fact all the little flies were at at bottom of the container, hard to see....maybe 40-50 of them! No wonder I did not see them around the kitchen anymore! Had I devised my own, cheap method? maybe, as this is simply a piece of plastic and some vinegar, worth pennies. Even an open container with apple vinegar will do, I am sure, or anything that is fermenting, like juice or wine. But this one I bought and it works :-) so I will keep it :-)

Lid not secure
The issue I have with these is 1st off the smell is awful, be sure not to spill a drop when poring because it’s hard to make it go away. Also the container does not secure, you are simply resting the top on the bottom full if liquid. If you knock into it, it will topple & spill. Not great for a house with kids/pets.

Worked well for me with Apple Cider Vinegar
I was not sure if this would work and used apple cider vinegar in the cup instead of the provided solution. It took a while (3-4 days) before it started to catch the fruit flies. Once it started, it caught a lot of flies and I am pleased with its performance. It looks much better than a cup with cling wrap and punched holes in it.

Useless. Don't waste your money!
First, I can only report on my own personal experience here. Second, I feel i was 'fooled' by all the "positive" reviews & ordered it. Got this today and put it right to use with High Hopes. While easy to set up, unfortunately it's basically useless. The fruit flies fly all around it but very few actually go into it. After several hours only 3-4 were actually in there. Meanwhile I killed nearly 50+ with a spray bottle filled with dish soap & water. (It kills them almost instantaneously). Also you can make your own "trap" for Free. Just take a small jar, put it some fruit scraps (& or honey) mixed with some dish soap, cover with wax paper (or saran wrap) secured with a rubber band & punch several holes in the wax paper to give the flies access. Presto! A trap that will work just as well for FREE. I'll be asking Amazon for a refund on this expensive useless trap. Really wished it had worked as once infected with these guys it's really hard to eliminate them completely.

Save your money
Used old 16oz bottles and apple cider vinegar, home made traps were more effective.

These Worked For Me!
Bought a different brand, the cute red apple one, that I found difficult to empty and refill. When time came to try something else, I tried these. They are not only attractive, but the blend that is used to attract the fruit flies is the real deal. I bought 2 more to set up in another part of the house. Its 'attractive to look at, infinitely easier to clean and refill than other products. Very happy with my purchase

I'm not gonna rate it less, because I used it for something else other than what is stated in the package, so I guess it's not their fault. I was hoping it will help me get rid of drain flies in the bathroom, but they didn't even get near it. So, IF YOU WANT THIS FOR DRAIN FLIES, DON'T BUY IT! IT WON'T WORK.
