I'd give it three if I could finish
I just can't with this book anymore. Where to even begin?Well I'm 75% of the way through and I've tried so hard to finish this. I keep going back, but lose interest. It usually takes me two MAYBE three days to finish a romance. Its been like two weeks now.I'm going to give you an honest review with spoilers, hoping to save you, so hold on tight. The main male character is an A hole. He never once acts like her boss. His behavior is inappropriate from the get go. Pursuing her even though he knows he shouldn't. Even though he knows he will just dump her. Even though he knows when he dumps her he will still be HER BOSS.Of course he showers her in gifts and practically stalks her all to get into her pants and we are supposed to take that as romance. The female lead? No backbone. She's a Harvard grad? With what brains? The male lead (for the life of me I don't remember either of their names) dumps her after she just gives in to his relentless pursuing and then when he sees her out with another guy, he forces himself into her apartment where she gives into him AGAIN. And then what happens? He leaves her. AGAIN. He only talks to her again because he's been accused of murder and he hires her to defend him, which makes absolutely no sense. She just passed the BAR and she is supposed to defend him in a high profile murder case??? Come on!Their lack of sense of urgency is infuriating. They have like a couple of days to gather evidence and they spend basically all of it doing "it". Oh, but don't worry because EVERYTHING comes easy for the fresh Harvard law grade. She breaks into the victims apartment to find a laptop FULL of evidence right there for her convenience. Like, the first thing the cops would do is ransacked the victims apartment, along with his apartment, which never seemed to happen. She goes to a bar to ask questions? Oh you bet the most obvious perpetrator behind the murder is in plain sight practically screaming that she had something to do with the murder.Oh and the "betrayal" by her family is just plain stupid. Not only the "betrayal", which is dumb in and of itself, but you don't know what the Damn betrayal even is until 60% into the book. Its obnoxious. The author just repeatedly hints to it.Her best friend? Yea some best friend. Her best friend cheated on her with her boyfriend four years before and now they are all buddy buddy again because miss Harvard grad (told you, don't remember their names) needs to use someone for a place to stay in new york. Even if they were "meant" to be together, your best friend was screwing your boyfriend behind your back. Have a little backbone and respect. The writing style is enough to give anyone a headache. It jumps around so much. One second you're in one place and the next you'll be like "oh we're here now. Okay..."I could go on and on, but I could really care less if this guy gets convicted of murder or not.

Fantastic!!
It is no secret that I am a big fan of Sandi Lynn. I absolutely love everything she has written. She's the queen of writing hot millionaire romances. Defense is no exception.Luca Russo is a rich, high powered, sexy as sin attorney who is a player who loves to be in control both in and out of the court room. He felt out of control in his childhood and his past secrets made him who he is today. When he met Ariana Williams he lost some of that hard-fought control, which made me love him even more.Ariana is a brilliant and determined woman who just found out news from her family that left her feeling pain, anger, and betrayal. She was so devastated that she left her family the night she graduated law school and moved to New York. She meets Luca and you can immediately feel the chemistry between the two of them. What I love about her is that she could give just as good as she could get. What she wasn't prepared for was falling for this seemingly unreachable man who could give her everything but his heart.I couldn't put this book down. Once Luca finds himself in for the fight of his life the intensity of this book goes up even more. Ariana is the one person who can save him from his past and his present. Get ready for drama, suspense, passion and falling head over heels for these two strong willed attorneys. The verdict is out and this book is definitely five stars.

I love Sandi Lynn's books , such a gift after reading so many dull books
Adraina leaves her family after graduating from law school. She over heard them talking about a secret they have kept from her for 25 years. Devastated she goes to New York to stay with her bestfriend Olivia whom she hasn't talked to in four year. Lucas is a partner at a very prominent law firm, he is Olivia's boss and needs a temporary secretary. He offers Ariana the job because Lucas is attracted to her. Once he reads her resume he is shocked and sets her up to take the bar exam. He wants her as a lawyer in his firm. After refusing Luca dinner invitations many time Ariana agrees , they are both very attracted to each other. Luca and Adraina end up in bed then he leaves and won't answer her texts. She is crushed but gets a perfect score on her bar exam and goes on with her job as a lawyer. After weeks of most seeing each other she get a call from Luca to be his lawyer, he is accused of murder. She becomes his lawyer and works diligently to clear his name. There are many experienced partners at Luca's law firm but he chooses Adraina who has no experience. This is a story of crime solving, love and secrets from both couple's past. A beautiful love comes from healing for a couple that deserves love, respect and redemption. A must read!

Good book
The plot in this book was pretty good. Some angsty love stuff at first but good from an altruistic standpoint. Luca and Ariana had an instant attraction, but sometimes their insta-lust kind of got in the way. Stubborn men and women sometimes make books go on and on at times, but there were other powerful twists that took that of the table.I like attorney books because we get to see a lot of things in all types of moving parts. I liked that about this book, because it made it worth reading.
