Future Quest 1

Do you want or need superheroes doing heroic things? Do want to see them battle a cosmic horror while they're at it? Do want some Hanna Barbera before other than comedy and self-parodies? With solid and mostly consistent art? If you answered yes to any of them then you may enjoy this book. The story is simple Hanna Barbera's various action heroes must unite to stop a cosmic space blob from eating all life on earth. The cast manages to honor its roots while bring something new to the table. It also tells you all you need to know about them in quick and easy. It also adds a new Mightor and Member of the Impossibles. As for flaws fans of the Galaxy Trio will be disappointed as their killed off quickly. Dino Boy and friends disappear quickly into the story. And if you enjoy this you might like the rest of the series.

I was a kid who spent his Saturday mornings glued to the television set for the one day a week that kids ruled the airwaves (See, back in those olden times, before Cartoon Network & Nickelodean, we only really had a solid block of cartoons- on every channel!- on Saturdays). The biggest part of those mornings was watching the Hanna Barbera action cartoons: Space Ghost, Herculoids, Johnny Quest, etc. It was great. Now, with Future Quest, we get a heavy dose of those characters, updated and given a more serious treatment than they've had in a while (seriously, Birdman: Attorney at Law?). And they're teaming up to save not just our world... but ALL worlds! Fantastic stuff, with some great artwork... Totally worth checking out, even if you've never seen any of these characters before, outside of Adult Swim.

Really cool mash up of all the coolest HB characters from back in the day.Of all the new HB comics, this is definitely my favorite. It's the only one where the characters retain their image from the original source material but of course with the spin of whatever artist is drawing the issue.A real treat for fans of old action cartoons.

I thoroughly enjoyed the update on Johhny Quest, Space Ghost, Bird Man, the Herculoids, Frankensten Jr, the Impossibles, etc. But, there is just too much crammed in here. They could spread these guys out a bit more. It's a bit overwhelming. Still, it was fun to read. Just not as good as Scooby Doo Apocalypse or Wacky Raceland.

I'm 65, but still a sucker for the Space Ghost of my youth. I mean, the serious super-hero, not the stupid talk show host.In these Future Quest books, ALL the characters are taken seriously, even the ones that were crazy loons back in the day of Saturday morning TV.I really like this series of books, and I'm buying copies of everything.

For those that grew up watching Hanna-Barbara reruns of these heros, it's great to see the team of DC bring them back to life in this new form. A new powerful threat is bringing all of Hanna-Barbara's greats together, the Quests, Space Ghost, The Herculoids, Birdman, etc. If you like these guys, you need to give this a read.

It was fun to read. All of the classic cartoons I've watched when I was a kid was in this comic. Some of them I didn't recognize but it was enjoyable.

Such a nostalgic trip to my childhood. Excellent story telling and artwork.

I have been looking forward to the new DC Hanna-Barbera Universe with high anticipation! This is the 2nd book out but my first read. There is only one word to describe it ... AWESOME!! I grew up watching these cartoons on Saturday mornings and am so happy to see all the HB superheroes in a modern story-line. Future Quest is typical superhero fare with a sci-fi theme. I have always loved Jonny Quest, and this re-imagining is faithful yet current. I'm in love! This is a very busy volume with masses of characters introduced and the beginning of a story arc that promises to be epic. The book switches back and forth between the main plot and background/origin stories for the heroes, superheroes, and villains. I won't get into the whole story here but let's just say I highly recommend!!

My dream is FINALLY here. I love this comics so much. It is perfect. I hope they will keep release more Hanna-Barbera comics. DC rules again.
