Highways in Hiding by George O. Smith, Science Fiction, Adventure, Space Opera

I recall reading this book in the halcyon days of my youth, whiling away the hours reading now classic sci-fi and fantasy before the advent of x-box and the web as the teenage distractions of choice. There have always been ways to avoid studying in HS and college and this book was a perfect escape from the demands of formal education. Wouldn't life have been great with the powers described in this book? An interesting and quick-reading mix of alternate human abilities, secret societies and intrigue and action drawing on both themes still makes a great escapist read.

I had read this book as a teenager and when I saw the generic cover I did not even think to check further. When it arrived it was the size of a school notebook (8.5x11) and printed with ink so light that I had difficulty reading it. It was the same book, just printed as if it was a draft to be read and marked by an editor.I am older and my eyes don't see as they used to so I will not buy books in this format again.

I bought this used book to replace a copy I read many years ago when it was titled "Highways In Hiding"
